High weight (June 2011): 328

Pre surgery weight (2/1/17): 283

Last week: 239.9

This week: 233.9 (Monday morning)

Weigh-in is a day late this week, but can't complain! I was away for the weekend at Disneyland with the kids. Made for some really good walking day**** 25k steps for the first time ever on Friday and Saturday. I took a CamelBak into the park with me to ensure I kept hydrated, and brought my own food with me so I didn't have to get stuck with Disney food. Nice to see a big drop again after a couple weeks of smaller losses.

Last week - 180.8
This week - 180.8

Next time I see the 179.6 on the scales I'm taking a picture to prove it is showing up! Just not on Weigh In days. Working evenings I'm not home in front of the TV but I'm grazing too much on Saturdays when I'm in and out from working on yard.

GF happy camper! The MSU Lady Bulldogs knocked off UConn to make it to the Championship game of the NCAA Women's Final Four. I was working and she was texting the score to me so I knew what was going on with game. Whatever we do today must be home by 5:00 CDST! Go DAWGS!!

Go do your thing!

225.6 Last week

222.2 today

I was worried that I would be up a few. Maybe there is something to that exercise thing :-) I will use this loss as incentive to keep on exercising. The walk with the wife was nice, but the gym still does not thrill me.

John, enjoy Cleveland! A few months a go I could have told you some good places to eat on the West side. Today they don't fit my menu requirements :-)

Have a great week everyone!

Basically the same, which I'll take. I did well this week with food and exercise despite traveling and extremely long hours. I had to eat some less than awesome things in the airport but was careful to be mindful and only in moderation. We had to escape Boston early due to the Noreaster so plans shifted, planes changed and my 'routine' was a bit upset. I got through and am happy to have some progress.

Have a great week!

I was more mindful with my eating past week, but exercise was a problem. I'm traveling all week in Detroit and Cleveland starting at 0 dark hundred tomorrow which will be tough for me. I need to keep focusing on being mindful about food, and restrict the garbage food. I'll get exercise where I can.

Yesterday was the first day we hit 70 degrees this year. Its tough to keep spring fever at bay. I did a 100 min spin class so I didn't take my bike out, but its ready to go the next time I'm home on a nice day. I need to rack up my miles to get ready for the 150 mile ride in June.

I will be out of town next sunday, so I won't be checking in. Hopefully someone else can get this thread started.

Have a great week!!

Topic: Underwear suggestions...

Anyone have suggestions for some supportive underwear (of the boxer-brief variety)? The boys are getting unruly and I'd like to find some underwear that have a little compression as well, for the gym.

Topic: RE: Anybody had any experience w/ ED or lowered sex drive after surgery?

Yes, absolutely. I have had a gradually diminishing sex drive that pretty much bottomed out at ZERO 4-6 months after surgery (I am now 12 months post-op). The lack of sex drive was not my biggest concern as I was focused on so much else in my life and with my health. However, starting at about 10 months post-op I started experiencing other, possibly related, issues. My main complaint was fatigue - not fatigue as in I'm tired and need to sleep, but where I just always felt like my muscles were EXHAUSTED, and it was hard to motivate myself to do anything physical (and I mean anything, like getting up from a chair). In addition, I found myself a little more cranky/irritable than usual.

I made an appointment with my PCP for earlier this week and asked her to check for Low T. She had labs done, including low T as well as all the other usual suspects (Iron Levels, Vitamin B, Vitamin D, etc).

I just got my results back yesterday, everything is fine except Testosterone. Minimum levels from my lab are 240 (from reading online, often 300 or 350 is the low threshold) and mine clocked in at 199. So I now have an appointment with a urologist in a few weeks (yeah, almost a month to get an appointment) to start a treatment plan.

When I started having these issues I could find NOTHING online related to a decrease in testosterone due to weight loss or bariatric surgery. In fact, all google searches tend to result in the EXACT OPPOSITE, so it was tough to get any information. But it was definitely the case for me. I had none of these issue at all prior to surgery/weight loss.

I would also be concerned that you have these complaints and your PCP is saying it's in your head without even running a simple lab to rule out an underlying issue. I mean, maybe it is in your head, but it doesn't take much to find out if it's not. I would be a bit pissed about that.

I have not experienced any decrease in drive. However 2 of my favorite "non-scale-victories" are the ability to urinate standing up and the increased length of my penis due to the large amount of fat that has gone away around it!
