Everyone loses at a different rate. There's lots of factors, some you can control and some you can't. You only had your surgery a few months ago, make sure you're sticking to your plan, and use this time to reset your habits and routine. The weight will come off.

Don't forget to move also. You talk about confidence. My lost confidence came before surgery when I was way overweight. My confidence came back in spades as I started to move more, and found myself doing things I never thought I could do again.

I see you live in St Paul, I live in the area as well. One thing I started doing was walking at the Mall of America. It was a major suck, but I did the 5K walk. I was able to do the walk before surgery, but it took about 2 hrs. After surgery I got the time down to about 45 min. That time improvement helped my self confidence immensely. From there I was able to start doing more at the Gym.

You got this.

Last week: 188.0

This week: 189.2

Fudge ripple sundaes! Don't know what has me bummed out more. The scales or the Cowboys. My utterances at the TV, that from the legal stand point would qualify as disorderly conduct if in a public place, did not help the Cowboys and freaked out the yorkie!

Managed to get on treadmill and did all three sessions under 70:00 minutes. Damn sure could not do that at 331 pounds 9.5 years ago!

Safe travels the rest of the month. See ya when you get back!

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

Hi y'all!

So, I'm Matt from Minnesota! I finally had VSG on August 2, 2017. Just a little over 2 months ago. I'm not losing the big #'s as I was led to believe I'd be losing! Not only that, but I used to work both in Public Safety and Emergency Medical Services. And ever since putting on all this weight, and realizing that I could in fact possibly become one of those patients that I've dealt with over the years. Which ultimately led to me leaving my dream job. Do I miss it, you betcha! I'm lacking the confidence to go back and get re-certified and someday re-hired. I don't know where I lost or how I lost the confidence.

Has anyone else experienced this kind of loss after surgery or before surgery? And how or what did it take to reclaim your dreams/goals?

Anyway, thanks for listening/reading this!

- Matt

Well doesn't this suck! :-) I thought last weeks loss was a little much for the effort I had put in. Got another week to work on it again!

Good week to all.

THey say the road to hell is paved with good intentions. I had every intention of doing better with meals this week, but I'm finding that going out to Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner every day with a group very tough to manage. Still I need to keep fighting. I'm on the home stretch for the first wave of my project, and as a result I'll only spend two nights in my own bed the rest of this month. In fact, this will be my last check in until November. Lets do this!!

Michigan V Michigan State sucked from my perspective. that is all I have to say about that :(

Been lagging on my posts - having trouble finding the time to log on here, but still making time for exercise. Diet has been good and bad, usually worse when traveling. Stress has been high at work, which doesn't help much.

I'd say have a great week, but it's already halfway done!

Last week 196 (about the same for the last 5 weeks or so). Today (Monday) 196.5-197. I'll take it. Next Monday will be 11 years post RNY. Being under 200 after 11 years...I would take that in a heartbeat!!

Three ideas...Like Don said, Subway sandwiches. I put everything on mine...I get the tuna on Fridays. It's $3.50 for a six inch (no tax in CA if you don't toast it). It takes me about 4-6 days to finish the thing. The other thing I preach is Wendy's Chili (add cheese and onions if you like). It's the best fast food out there.

The other idea (if you are not pouring over a computer with clients) is doing a power walk with clients. They may want to get out and talk in the fresh air. Two birds with one stone...Depending on the situations. You just record their ideas and concerns. Just talking out loud. Brian

I weighed myself yesterday also, and was 195, so I am not sure which day is the fluke, but I'll take it and know I'll have
to be dilligent to keep the trend going for next weeks weigh in.

Motel 6 is no go for me/us. Don't want to be able to spray the room with Luminol and find blood splatter or other biologics. Ewwwwww! McDonalds only good for **** stop.

As of late, last several months, my main food issue has been that the one of the local restaurants closed. Really causes an issue when the only other place I eat at is Mexican food. I don't do the pizza joint for anything and I sure ain't going to eat anything from a gas station! Try to limit the Mexican to Tuesday and Thursday only but they do have a few other items on the menu I have tried. No bueno! At the place that closed was "American" food with a lunch special. Would get a protein and a veggie, get charged 1/3 the normal price, tip the waitress really good and was keeping good on scales. Now GF will get Subway or Sonic maybe Schlotzsky's and bring it to the office to share depending on her day. Too much bread even though may get two bites before I "strip" innards from bread. Result is try as I may eating crap and scales show it despite the walking and other stuff I do. On days GF does not meet me for lunch keep a supply of dude foods and protein bars to eat. Even my mother commented last week that it looked like I was putting weight back on even though I've been wearing the same size clothes the last 7-8 years!
