Very sad .. Too bad he didn't opt for WLS during his life, but then maybe he figured if he lost a lot of weight it might adversely affect his singing voice:

Today was a busy day, and started off early. We just rolled in the door after picking up our oldest granddaughter (age 10) at the airport. She'll be spending a week with us, then two weeks with her cousins, and then all six of our grandchildren and their parents will converge on our house for Independence Day. She is already having a blast getting reacquainted with our Rottweiler, Annie.

Last week 263

This week 263 1/4

On a side note, two days ago I passed the two year anniversary of my first bariatric appointment. I am down 218 lbs. My nascent diabetes is gone, with my blood sugar firmly within the normal range. My serious lymphadema is gone. My planar fasciitis is gone. I am in better health at age 59 than I have been in many years. In fact, I am in better health than a number of my friends who are 20-30 years my junior. It is amazing what this surgery (and some hard work) has done for me.

Have a good week everyone!

Finished 150 mile bike ride a few hours ago. I don't trust this weigh in because its mid day. Over the last two days, I've really eaten what I wanted. Today, I had drank nearly 60 oz of water before weighing in. Next week will be more reliable.

Last week: 213.8

Today: 211.6 (Skeptical)

My cheek is getting better this week, but not all the way healed yet. The list of doctor's appointments is getting shorter. My last mandated nutritionist is July 10th and then insurance approval is submitted.

We took our youngest to see Hamilton yesterday.

Have a great week all.

Wonky work schedule still in effect and I'm feeling it. One more week.

Rain and getting out of Dodge last weekend will be paid for today. Lots of yardwork on tap and already have two bottles of water freezing in the freezer.

Have a Great Week, Gents!

Hey all...Don't post much if I feel heavy. Got on the scale on Sunday...202.5 I'll take it. High was about 300 pounds. Thought I was about 207-210...But I've been active...I don't eat crazy, but not always good. See the cardiologist in 1/2 an hour. I've seen my labs...All are very good. The strange stat is that my carbon dioxide is high...This is the 4th time it tested high in 2 years. And each time it's a little high out of range. I wonder if it because I hyperventilate when they draw the blood?? I'll see if I need to exercise more (total lung capacity) to get that down. Have a good week. My back is better, but still need to do the exercises...Go to the PT in 2 days. Brian

PS Just got back from the doctor...Everything is good. The CO2 is because I don't drink water for my fasting labs...He said not to worry about it. I got on the scale...Put the big weight at 200...Started moving the smaller balance weight down...down...down. We had to move the big weight to 150 then over to the 50 pound weight to 50. I was 200 with my clothes on!!! No water retention. Doing real good.

Flatline for me. My weight stayed unchanged at 263. Well, it did change. I know that since I weigh every day. But while I've been on both sides of 263 this past week, I was right on the dot again this morning.

This week: 184.8!!

Cue the choir: HALLELUJAH!!

Have not seen sub 185 in a while. Working evenings has one major perk - very little or no grazing when I'm home. Have been doing good on getting in the walking every other if not every day. Broke 66:30 Friday. Working late in the heat of the day has me slamming the water too.

Speaking of heat - first 100 degree day since 2011! We can't go seven months, much less seven years, without a 100 day! Hit 100+ at tail end of May and the Summer equinox is still a little over two weeks away. May not rival the Summer of 1980, hottest on record, but likely to give it an honest effort or so it seems this early in the year. Willis Carrier is the South's best friend!

Hydrate! Hydrate! Hydrate!
