Four days down of liquid diet down and three to go. I am going to work Monday and Tuesday, but its getting hard to stay focused on anything other than Surgery Wednesday and remembering to stay on the liquid diet.

Three pounds in a week? Almost want to call BS on myself. More mindful eating, a few more times on the treadmill and doing all the yardwork yesterday helped. Weighed three times to make sure of what I was seeing.

It's like he knew he was at the end when he stopped treatment. RIP Sir.

Took a couple steps forward, and a few back. Net was a little loss, which I'll take. I spent last weekend in Calgary, Alberta Canada with my Dad seeing his brothers and sisters. I went to two 60th anniversary parties the same day. I never thought I'd do such a thing. The wild fires in British Columbia made the smoke so thick it was like fog. Crazy.

These next couple of weeks will be more of a wild ride work and vacation wise. I'm trying to figure out how I can get out and do more riding before the weather turns.

RIP John Mccain. You were a true American hero.

Checking in late this weekend. I see I am not alone. I am on my way home from some surgery. Today was supposed to be flap surgery but I rescheduled that to accommodate this one.

Last week 255 lbs.

this week 257 1/4 lbs.

Sorry I have been MIA guys.

Start of 6 month pre-op diet (2/14): 320 lbs.

8/6: 287.2 lbs.

8/13: 291.8 lbs.

8/20: 285.2 lbs.

I'm continuing to ride the pre-surgery rollercoaster. I was really bummed last week when I was back in the 290s. I got really frustrated that I had lost focus after working so hard for 5 months. I refocused my efforts on diet and exercise last week to cut it back down to the mid 280s.

Down 34.8 lbs since February. This week is my last monthly appointment with my weight management doctor as part of my 6 month medically supervised weight management program. Hopefully after this week they will submit my paperwork to my insurance.

The first 5 months of pre-op program flew by, but this month is dragging awfully slow.

This week: 186.6 (Monday)

Way too much "road kill" over the last week, especially since Thursday, with minimal amount of exercise. Found out a GF's BIL, with help from a Big Green Egg grill/smoker, does some really good bar-b-que! Home so back to more mindful eating and exercising. Working wonky schedule again this week. Two PM's and rest on days. Up too early since have to go to periodontist this morning. Hopefully get a siesta before going to work.

Jim - all the hoop jumping serves as a gauge of your compliance level. Your surgeon does not want to **** away his/her time and talent if you're not going to do your part. So far you're batting a thousand!

I have never been a sailor but I understand that in the Naval Service of many countries there is a long tradition of elaborate ritual celebrations/hazings when new sailors cross the International Date Line for the first time. These celebrations have been a tradition for hundreds of years and pay homage to King Neptune and his court.

I don't think that King Neptune watches over the 300/200's meridian but if he did we would be on a first name basis because I believe that this is my 14th time passing it in one direction or another. Only crossed the 100's/200meridian once, however.

I went to my final pre-surgery appointment on Tuesday, and learned... that there was another appointment. There is always another appointment. Anyways, I went to that on Saturday and unless I am missing something the next time I walk into a doctor's office will be for RNY on August 29th.

My wife took moving detail this semester so she is in Waco melting.

Have a great week guys. I will have an Atkins shake for you.

Jim

Thanks guys. The lowest I have been since at least 1981 is 217, so these numbers are unexplored territory for me.
