As long as you're healthy, it's whatever weight you feel good about. Most of the health care providers shouldn't offer advice unless they've had the surgery. I find most of them to be very disconnected from the reality we all live with.

Hi everybody.

I got a Dexa scan last week. They said that I was about 189 of lean tissue and bone and that 211 puts me at about 12% body fat. The recommendation was that I stop consciously trying to lose and just focus on fitness level from here on in. I will check that with my Baritrician, but the advice seems to make sense. As you guys know, after a lifetime of constantly either losing or gaining, trying to stay the same seems scary.

I also climbed up the rope to the ceiling for the first time ever this week. Fat kids revenge.

I will be on vacation next week, so likely unable to check in.

Have a great week, all!

211.8 Last Week
210.2 Today

Broke below 210 twice this week. Hoping the trend continues. Like Don, not much on yardwork as lawn hasn't grown except for a few patches of weeds. Got guests(wife's bff and her daughter) in for a week, so plenty of pool time. Guest is also the one who mentored me through my WLS. She got sleeved a year befoe me. She had a little regain but still is doing well. Having her here makes the menu a little easier for me.

Good week to all

Last week: 186.6

This week: 188.2

Not good. No one to blame but the guy in the mirror. Confess to backing off outside "to do" this weekend. Had errands to run yesterday so tended to that instead of doing outside chores except for things I could do w/o breaking a major sweat. Have a social event this afternoon so will use push mower closest to the house before getting ready to go. No rain this week = not much to mow anyway.

Harmony has once again returned to the Universe with the NFL teams heading to training camp. Cowboys are in Oxnard, CA sans Ezekiel Elliot. Contract renegotiation BS. Season tickets will be arriving soon from M-State. Oil changed in RAV4 yesterday so we can do this year's road trips. Still unknown who State will have as starting QB. Being in TX can not metion football w/o mentioning the HS'ers.

Have a Great Week, Gentlemen!

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

That was about 15 years ago when I was just obese. It took another 10 for morbidly obese to happen.

Last week 208.4

This week 206.8

Still chipping away at it. New shorts came in and overall they work well. cleaned out my underwear drawer and found three pairs of boxers and a pair of shorts that missed the purge. Amazing how large 2xl looks now.

I remember the Apollo 11 landing really well. I was eight and spending the Summer at a lakeside bungalow in the backwoods of upstate NJ. The TV was a small black/white set with maybe 3 or 4 channels and they were all broadcasting Apollo 11. That was the Summer I learned to feel guilty about torturing frogs and started overeating rice pudding.

This week has been great on exercise and terrible on overeating. If not for WLS, I'd be 350lbs. Eventually I'll learn to eat better but it takes me time (years) for the message to translate.

I'm surprised that's pre wls. You seem mostly normal with a little extra weight in the photo.

Space flight in the early days, even now, is such a risky, risky prospect. Still have a VHS copy of "The Right Stuff" tucked away in a tub somewhere.

210.5 Last Week
211.8 Today

I'll take the hit. Went to a pig roast yesterday. Salty, smokey, delicious. Too hot for yardwork, maybe some today.

Speaking of Apollo, below is a shot of me (before WLS) where Apollo 1 burned in the fire at Kennedy. My dad worked on part of the Apollo program in Cleveland. Me, I kind of followed in his footsteps, working on Shuttle experiments and now ISS.

Good week to all!
