Last week 185.0
This week 187.2
Been yoyoing pretty hard lately, was down to 180 on Monday hit 187 midweek, was down to 183 Friday morning, hit 194 last night (I usually gain 5-7 pounds during the day and lose it during the night). Hope everyone gets their fill of Turkey and Football.
It is for the Glucose component of the blood panel. They want a twelve hour fast for baseline sugar levels. If they are not checking that and only A1c, then you would not have to fast. I'm going to ask about it at the followup appointment on Friday. I'd much rather not fast!
Here is the list of what they are looking for in my bloodwork, in case anyone wants to compare:
CBC
COMP METABOLIC PANEL
FOLATE SERUM
HGB A1C
IRON + TIBC
LIPID PANEL BASIC
PTH INTACT BLD
TSH BLD
VITAMIN B1/THIAMINE, WHOLE BLD
VITAMIN B12 BLOOD
VITAMIN D 25 HYDROXY

I'm up about 6 pounds this week. It's not that uncommon for me but it sucks that Thanksgiving hasn't happened yet and I'm already up. Exercise is down a lot due to colder weather. I'm settling into a winter routine which is much more limited on activity.
Works a challenge, and my local sports teams are awful but I'm still a fan. I guess that's what's it's all about.
Happy Thanksgiving!

I have not heard of anyone fasting before bloodwork before. I'm 5 years out and no one ever suggested this to me. Can I ask why this is necessary?
219.1 Last Week
217.7 Today
That's a little better than last week.
I have my annual bariatric check up Friday. Bloodwork tomorrow, so I'll be fasting after 6 tonight.
Don, you made me think of Southern cookin'
Mother in law coming over for dinner. Her roots are from down South (Alabama) I always blame her Southern cooking on my obesity :-)
Today's dinner: Roast beef, green beans and bacon, mustard greens, and black eyed peas. Not a bad carb in the mix!
Good week to all

Cowboys and Pats this afternoon. Could get interesting. Then again Cowboys could catch an ass whooping if not careful. Mississippi State beat up on ACU yesterday. Told the Mrs. because she went to State I went to ACU I was wearing a plain white t-shirt and cheer for whoever was on offense. Worked okay. Can put my maroon back on for the Egg Bowl Thanksgiving night when they play Ol' **** in Starkville. Leaving Tuesday after work. Alabama, LSU, Georgia all winning. Nice work by Arizona State to beat #6 Oregon, Oklahoma held off TCU and the Baylor Bears devoured "Bevo" (U of Texas longhorn mascot) in Waco. Starting Thanksgiving Day this is my favorite week of college football. Rivalry week!
If you are traveling pack your patience with fellow motorist or dealing with TSA lines at the airports. Little reminder to eat like you should despite the temptations that will be there. Had office Thanksgiving dinner last week. Brisket and bar-b-que beans! Only in Texas!
Have a Great week you bearers of the prostate gland!!
Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!
Bad break for Roll Tide QB. Heard he cannot really be diagnosed for the draft until at least 6 months? A 10-15% possibility that he can not play in the NFL, and regardless he will drop in the draft. The good thing is that they got him operated on almost immediately. But a Dr on the WFAN Radio show said he cannot play for at least a year?
1. As it has often been said the surgeries fix our stomachs but not our heads.
2. ANYBODY who says to you that WLS is the "easy way out" it is an automatic green light to kick their ignorant ass!!
So true. Goes to show that this is NOT the "easy way out" as many say. It's a tool that helps us and gave us a boost but man do we have to work the program! It really is a struggle about choices not only every day-but every meal! Our stomach may have changed but our old mindset is still here! Some days we win, some days we lose-just gotta hope we have more wins than losses!
This is what I appreciate about this group. We share that we all are human and have our ups and downs. I was feeling pretty bad about the gain this week, even though I knew I had it coming. Seeing that we all are in the same boat gives me strength and a boost of willpower.
