Sunday Weigh In
194.1 Last week
193.3 Today
County Fair season has started. We've been going to them for over 30 years. Skipped last year, so I'm looking forward to the walking round and enjoying. A little worried about the food, mostly the deep fried anything. Not sure if I will try some, as it may put me in a place you never want to be at a county fairground. The public restroom! :-)
A good week, after the rain finally stopped Thursday. Got stuff done on my todo list. Up and down on a ladder today doing touch up on the house paint. God I hate painting! But I will take the steps as part of my exercise.
Good week to all.

Not much to report here. I am two months away from my two year surgery anniversary and I am continuing to lose. I was 258 1/4 last week. This week I am 255 even. Flap removal is coming soon, although the date may be fluid. More to come later on. Have a good week everyone!
10 Days to liquids begin.

No food funerals for me. I have had 52 years of feasting. I will take my sons out for steak next weekend, though.
For the more experienced guys, did you set a weight goal? How did you determine it? None of my Doctor's want to pin down a number, instead they say just focus on your co-morbities. Or they give me the generic 65-75% of excess weight. I count things for a living, though so my nature is to focus on numbers.
Enjoy your summer week, all.

$@#* Forum software!!! I had a comprehensive response typed out and the POS, hasn?t been updated in 20 years software deleted half of it as I tried to navigate around.
I started at 481 lbs. According to the people at my program, and their measurements, I would get to 350 lbs if I lost the average amount of weight. I hate being average. I set my own goal of 325 lbs. I blew through that, and set a stretch goal of 300 lbs. I blew through that one too, and at one year out from surgery, tipped the scales at 285 lbs. At that point I was done with goals.
Today I am just about two months shy of two years out from surgery. I am at 255 lbs. I have not suffered any regain yet. Numbers in this process help mark progress, but in the end they are an artificial construct. No one can predict how much a particular person will lose, or if they will keep it off. There are too many variables.
If you want to set goals as a way to focus, that?s great. But keep in mind you may be more or less than what your mind thinks you should be. If you follow your program faithfully, and get reasonable exercise to stay fit, your body will find a happy spot. It is up to your head to agree with that regardless of the actual number.
In the picture I am 265 lbs. my BMI is 33.6. That means I am obese. Right. Even my surgeon laughs at the BMI index. It is antiquated medical understanding, to the tune of almost 200 years out of date.
Thanks guys. The lowest I have been since at least 1981 is 217, so these numbers are unexplored territory for me.

This week: 185.6
Week within tolerances work wise. Three days of school in hard plastic chairs was hard on the ass but one of the best schools I've been to in a while. Even managed to get some things done on the other two.
Wet weekend! 2.5" of rain since Friday! We were needing it bad. Grass crunched when you stepped on it.
This week another short one because of being off Thursday and Friday for a birthday run to the ATL next weekend. Planning to get on treadmill few more times before we go. Life got in the way of walking last week.
Have a Great Week, Gents!!
Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!
