A little better week, but there is still quite a bit of room for improvement. Especially eating. I have some concerns about eating this week, but I'll do my best. Exercise was a little better. I found some information on loosening up my shoulder, so I'm on that. I want to get back to some resistance training for the winter. The weather has been really nice, so I am taking advantage of the blue sky and getting outside while I still can.

Big day yesterday. Michigan was dominant again, Ohio State lost , and the Cubbies are going to the world series. Now that the Cubs have gotten past their curse, its time for the Lions. If the Cubs can get there why not dream a little bit.

Have a great week everyone.

Last week - 178.0
This week - 180.0

Danger Will Robinson!  Danger!

Wonder if Ohio coach will be looking for new job?  I doubt it.  Auburn HAMMERED Arkansas and Mississippi State lost in last 3 seconds on a field goal to Kentucky. Nerts.  Alabama handed Texas A&M their butt.  Thank you Nick Sabin. Not an Aggies fan.  Cowboys have a bye this week.

Tomorrow interesting.  Have to be in Waxahachie before 8:00 AM to get an abdominal aortic sonogram done.  Not having issues, to my knowledge, but my father did not know he had issues until his ruptured and he died 23 years ago next month.  Peace of mind thing to have it done since I'm approaching the same age bracket.

Go do your thing!

Thanks John.

I don't foresee any issues - just after a little piece of mind.

Hi guys,

This is my first weigh in. I had surgery about a week and half ago (10/12). I was on full liquids but that was making me feel sick, so I introduced a little bit of food today and had about 2 oz of chicken. It felt good and I have felt full since I ate it about 5 hours ago. I have had a hard time drinking as much water as I should, too. I finally got to 32 ounces yesterday. The whole week before, it was hard for me to drink one 16oz bottle! Anyone else have that issue early on? I also feel very sluggish, and I seem to need a nap around 4pm every day. I see my surgeon tomorrow though, and I am hoping to get all these staples removed. I was surprised they needed 6 incisions to do the surgery, but it is what it is. Anyway, here are some stats:

High weight: 375lbs - 1994

High weight this year: 337lbs

Surgery day weight: 311lbs

Last Sunday: 300lbs

Today: 293lbs

Welcome to our little slice of the internet, and congratulations on that first step. Getting your water down after surgery is tough, but it gets easier. Just remember to sip instead of gulping. That was hard for me to learn.

Enjoy the ride!

Marathon not a sprint, Grasshopper.  Slow and steady wins the race.

Best advice for a newbie is in my signature line.
