Considering how tough it was to stay on track during my vacation, I'm pretty happy with the number this week. I had my parents, kids and grandkids running around all week, eating crap. Guess what, I ate crap too dammit. On a positive note, my exercise was really good. I was able to go to some spin classes in the Detroit area, and a day at the zoo with nearly 20,000 steps helped a lot, so I had some sort of activity almost every day.

This coming week will be tough again as I'm on a driving trip to Chicago all week, with customer dinners every night. Opportunities for exercise are going to be weak.

I wish I had some words to describe my feelings about this past weeks events. I can never seem to get my thoughts expressed properly in words. What I will say is, @DON1962 please be careful out there. There are a lot of dumbasses out there.

Stay Safe this week.

Wow it's been five months since I checked in on here. Crazy how time just fly's by when life gets busy. I was just informed by my girlfriend the other day that's it been a year since my surgery day which is insane. Only five more pounds and I will be at my goal weight, I will say this I have hit a little stall since I was at 255 last month as well.  All in all if this is the point the body settles at I would be very pleased.

Last week: 177.4

This week: 177.0

I don't know where to start on what happened Thursday in Dallas.  By all accounts the protest participants had worked with the boots on the ground when it came to keeping the march going and not blocking traffic.  The boots handled the vehicle traffic and any counter protesters that were wanting to start ****  From both sides it had been a "successful" event.  It was at the end when the shooting happened.

Not going to speculate as to what was going on in the suspect's mind.  He made his decision, all be it a very poor one, to take up arms against the Police based on the information he had and his interpretation of that information.  Reportedly he was on the way to Dishonorable Discharge from the Army and they screwed up and did not get it done.  He had a high capacity firearm and knew tactics which made him far more dangerous.  Memes are going around with a picture of the EOD robot and the caption "Dallas PD employee of the month/year".

On a more personal note the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Officer was from Corsicana.  That is the County Seat of the County my little berg where I work is located in.  I went to the prayer service at Noon on Friday at the Corsicana Government building.  Audience was a third law enforcement and rest civilian.  His older brother is the District Attorney of Navarro County.  One of his former coworkers, who is now the Chief of the Corsicana ISD Police Department, the Chief of the Corsicana PD and the Navarro County Sheriff went to the ME's office in Dallas yesterday and escorted him back to the funeral home.  Residents lined the street to watch.

Once again we in law enforcement will gather for a funeral or a series of funerals.  Regardless of the size of the agency you work at we'll black out the badges, spit and polish all we can on the uniforms, get your unit spiffed up for the procession, sit stoically in the service or in an overflow room watching it on CCTV, try and choke back the tears.  Depending on local customs you'll parade by the casket, salute then exit the venue and go stand in the "Wall of Honor" outside waiting on the casket to be loaded into the hearse for the ride to the cemetery.  If you are going to the cemetery you line up in the procession with your lights full on and slowly but surely you follow the vehicle in front of you.  At the cemetery again you will stand in the Wall of Honor as the casket is put on the cradle while the drum and bagpipes play a dirge.  The minister will do his thing, bugler will blow "Taps", there will be a 21-gun salute then a bagpipe soloist will play "Amazing Grace".  If by this point you are not on the verge of bawling you will be in about 15 seconds when the Final Call is done on the radio.  A dispatcher will call your unit number two or three times.  No answer.  After the last time it is usually a Chief or Sheriff will tell them that the officer is no longer able to answer and is "out of service".  The dispatcher will then respond along the lines that Unit.... with the agency name is no longer in service at whatever the time is.  Permission to cry like a baby is not necessary at that point.  You can't help it.  There will be some glad handing afterwards among friends and colleagues.  Condolences are offered to the deceased officer's coworkers because while you try not to think about it you have it in the back of your mind as you go back to work you could be next.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

Highest=427

Day of surgery =362

Last week=238

Today=238

 It's crazy to think I'm 238 !  I look at pictures and can't believe that I was that big? I was really big for almost 20 years! I see people and they can't believe it's me. This week I saw someone I haven't seen since college and they said"wow,you haven't changed a bit" I just said thanks and didn't tell them what I put myself through.

I still need to work on getting my water in. Otherwise my vitaminschedule and food are decent.

Thanks everyone for being here to keep me in check and be supportive.

Have a great week!

Eric

Another drop in scale. However it is due to being sick and being diagnosed with Lyme Disease. Truly, the worse I have been sick in my life. Taking meds now and hoping for a speedy recovery.

Water-Improving

Vitamins-On Spot

Exercise-None as I was plaid up in bed all week.

NSV of the week...Although no victory, getting the diagnosis of Lyme Disease early as I have read and been told absolute horror stories about chronic Lyme Disease.
