Hi, everyone,

I have always posted in the "General Discussion" forum, and I noticed this one, so I thought I'd start posting here, too.

I am in the process of getting my PCP visits and lab work done to submit to my insurance company for a gastric bypass procedure. I have been working toward this since last October, so I'm getting anxious and excited now that the surgery is becoming more of a reality.

Like most of you, I have been heavy for most of my life. I'm in my early twenties, and I don't want to continue down this path for the rest of my life. It's just not healthy, and I don't want to have problems in the future. I've done different diets and weight-loss plans in the past, and I have lost 50-60 lbs. on them, but I always regain my weight and then some more.

I'm hoping to get my surgery sometime this summer, hopefully early-mid July. I'm really looking forward to the healthier lifestyle.

Looking forward to hearing from all of you,

Zach

Hey Zack...Welcome.  Ask away on the questions...I'm sure you'll have a ton.  This is a good site for gathering info...Take everything with a grain of salt...It is the internet.  On the Main Board you get a lot of arguing on which is the best surgery.  Here and the Exercise and Fitness Boards you get much less of that and more general discussion.  The process takes awhile...Then it speeds up, like it's coming to fast!!  Good luck on your journey...Brian
