Tough week for food and exercise. The next two weeks will be even worse. I'll have access to a hotel gym for a couple days in Canada, then I'm on vacation again next week. Hopefully, I'll get some hiking in. Vitamins are doing well. Based on my last labs, vitamins are spot on.
As the weather gets a little better, I've been able to get out more on the new bike. Did a 20 mile trail yesterday. I'm still getting the bike adjusted so my hands don't get numb, and my butt doesn't hurt so much. Its a work in progress.
I'll be gone again next Sunday on vacation. I'll be in North Carolina near the mountains, so hopefully I can get some hiking in.
Have a great two weeks all.....

Saw my PA for my 6 month check, a little late. She said everything is going great. Bloodwork numbers were perfect. She recommends that I see my PCP to see about getting off my blood pressure meds. She wants me to eat more....I told her that I'm trying but its work. Hopefully that will break soon. All in all, really good stuff.

Finally got back to just below my low after a longggggg month of little or no movement, or movement in the wrong direction. Hopefully the next few weeks will be more productive weight loss wise!
Been averaging 11,000 steps a day, did yardwork yesterday as I delivered and then moved 30 bags of mulch around the yard for my wife. This was something that would have been much more difficult last spring at 120 lbs heavier and with my arthritis -- so it was ALMOST kind of fun. July 8th is my first surgiversary appt and visit with my surgeon in Iowa City. I really want to be at my personal goal . . . . I really do.
Everyone have a good week! Enjoying the thunderstorm and downpour this morning and having a cup of coffee!

I've been away for several weeks. Vacation was amazing and last week was a "get back to reality week". I definitely gained a couple of pounds on vacation - I blame the bread in France! :)
I haven't weighed myself... I found it best for my psyche to wait at least 1 week to get back to normal. So, next week I'll check-in.
I completed by third 5K today, and signed up for my 4th.
Have a great week everyone! I'll have numbers next week, let's hope they aren't tooooooo big. *nervous
Hello guys!
Well I know this is the Sunday weigh in but I am always a day late. :)
Starting weight 337 Feb 2016
Surgery weight 318.5
Current weight 193.4
It looks like somehow i gained a half of pound over night. Non scale victory this week, when I woke up Saturday morning and went early at 7:00 to walk 7 miles, when I got to the park I was able to slowly jog for the first time in 20 years. Wow it was a great feeling to be able to slowly jog . I walked/jogged for about 7.5 miles. I really thought I would never be able to jog again. Then yesterday I was able to go on a trail hike with a local hiking group for 3.5 miles. So I guess I am getting my exercise in.
My main concern about my food is that I have started "grazing" again. After surgery I swore that I would stick to 3 3 oz meals per day and would never graze again. The grazing started when I would walk 6 or 7 miles or the day I participated in a 10 miler walk . I am grazing on peanuts, almonds, and beef jerky and sugar free popsicles . But I know that some day that could change to pretzels and chips. I am normally not hungry in the morning until about 10:30 then I eat a protein bar, but sometime around 5:30 or 6:00 my hunger kicks in. So one of my goals for the next week is to STOP GRAZING! I was planning to walk a lot this week and increase my mileage but the forecast for most of the week is heavy rain so I guess I will be stuck on the treadmill at the gym.
One thing I continue you with is sleeping with my CPAP machine. I really hoped that after surgery my sleep apnea would improve. But even at 194 I continue to have sleep apnea and I keep wearing the mask.
@QAJohn- thanks for the great quotes that you find every week that you post. Also congrats on the bike riding that is great exercise!
@masshockey- I told my PCP I stopped taking the high blood pressure medicine, the other day my BP was 162/72. Congrats on being close to not taking high bp meds!
@4khansen congrats on 204 that is great. I can totally relate to your problems with arthritis. I ran out of celebrex on Friday and have had a rough weekend as far as moving. Specifically when trying to stand up or sit down . My arthritis and back pain has greatly improved since surgery.
@don1962 I can tell you are not happy with your weight. Keep in mind the big picture 180 is much better then where ever you started from. I am sure you will have a better food week this week! And thanks to you and all those first responders who keep this country safe!
@billmacc7 you keep me inspired to keep exercising and walking! Good luck running the marathon! I cannot even imagine running 26.2 miles. That is an incredible victory from this whole process & your weight loss. Let us know how the race goes!
Everyone have a good week! Thanks to everyone for posting in this forum!

Very interesting as I gained 2 lbs in 2 weeks. I have to get my water in check as I have not been on point with that over the last 2 weeks. I actually feel great. Been doing a lot of fishing for trout and biking with the family. The weather is breaking but I still get cold hands and feet if it drops under 65 degrees.
Have a great week everyone
