Tough two weeks of eating and working out. I think I was mindful most of the time, but I know I had some lapses, especially in Colorado last week. Between the hotel I stayed at in Colorado and the meeting schedule I had, I basically took a rest week. Maybe I'm spinning the week in my mind, but I think my body was pretty beat up. I'm back to the gym this morning for a chest day and spin class.
I finally pulled the trigger on a new bike. I got the Trek FX 7.4. I only picked it up yesterday, and its raining outside, so I have not had a chance to ride it yet. I'm using spin class at the gym to learn how to get in and out of the cleats on the peddles so I don't break anything when I'm biking. As I research, I am finding all sort of paved and hard gravel trails I can go on all over Mn and actually around the country. Also, the bike store I used is going to sponsor some recreational rides and classes on bike maintenance. This may be another way to meet more people in the area. I'm looking forward to it.
Have a great week everyone.
Last week: 177.4
This week: 179.0
Enjoy the new bike. No really decent places to ride here without falling in to a pot hole, chased by dogs or being hit but some ignorant ass who thinks because his dually is largest thing on the road he has the right of way.
This week was less stressful than last week work wise but had to do some "Lone Ranger" time. Highlight of the week was one of the local octogenarian sticking his 2014 Ford PU under a 2014 semi rock hauling trailer. Sorry but when YOU hit the truck that is stopped using his turn signal fixing to turn off the highway to unload - the wreck is on YOU! Have to admit though it was a great picture with a mud flap hung up in the frame of the pick up. Octogenarian was okay. Did not even go to the hospital. May be able to salvage the bed but the rest of the truck is totaled.
Happy Easter.
Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

Good morning all.
Food intake was good all week. Exercise is causing me either the beginning of an injury, or a new level of stability in the muscle region. My body has yet to figure it out.
Good job on pulling the trigger on the wheels QAJohn. I am still trying to find something I like in my range $350-400, before I feel good about doing it. I can't wait to get on some wheels myself. I see those groups of like 10-20 bikes go right by my house every sunny weekend, so I know good riding is near me.
The weights are making their presence felt though. I like that sore feeling that happens. It's been a long time since that has happened.
Still at 229 for about 20 days now. I am not really worried as much as feeling relieved that it's going this great.

I hope everyone has a great week.
Yeah, I kinda wear my DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) with a little badge of honor.
I've never been much of a bike rider, but I'm interested. I see groups of people going by as well and as I research, I'm finding lots of activities. I've always been drawn to a social aspect to working out since it makes it more fun. I'm anxious for the weather to just get a little better and I'm sure there will be some rides to join as a beginner.
