Short-term goal: 199.9 -- April 15, 2016
Goal: 186 -- by June 15, 2016 :-)
Not a big drop this week, but closing in on my goal prior to boarding the airplane for Phoenix to visit our two daughters and then on to Puerto Vallarta over the next two weeks. I wanted to be at 210 by 3/2/2016. I'll be close if not there . . my biggest concern right now is that the girls are going to want me to hike some d* mountain next weekend :-).
All is going well, 11,000 steps a day average, all my water and eating pretty much appropriately as possible as probably we all do!
Will be offline for awhile, so everyone have a good two weeks.

Last year, I made a trip to North Carolina to visit my MIL and my SIL. My neice thought she would take me into the mountains for a long hike. I was AMAZED at what I could do after losing 140#. I ended up doing 2 - 6 mile hikes on medium trails on successive days. I also lost a crapload of weight even though I didn't eat all that well. I really liked hiking as a form of exercise because the air is fresh, the scenary is great and the workout is unique and full body.
Have a great time and let us know how it goes. One word of advice is to make sure you stay hydrated, especially in Arizona. Invest in a camelbak or something similar. Also wear good shoes.
Have a great time.
Thanks QaJohn! I will take water for the hiking and hopefully I will lose some weight despite my one daughter's idea that Mom and Dad are here let's go to my most pricey restaurants she can find that will take my credit cards lol. Also, the all-inclusive in Puerto Vallarta has awesome food and drink from most reviews. I may be leaving alot on my plate but love to try everything . . .

Basically the same, but I'll take a 0.1 loss. Exercise was good, calories were mostly good. I had 3 nights where I had a small glass of wine (like 2 oz each time, tops). I think that put a bit of a halt to my weigh loss. I'm ok with it this week. I did a 13 mile walk yesterday and just over 10 today; this nicer weather has been great! Snow returns tomorrow night, but it's 63 today!
Have a great week everyone!

Hey everyone.
Good week of all around focus on all areas I need to improve. I am also shopping for bikes with the wife. I was told by my doc to up the calorie intake to 1000 a day. I may go to 800-850 until I bottom out. The scale moved one pound down for me this week. Planks are coming along. Thanks for the suggestion.
I have been doing alot of hiking and, sadly enough, rainy rainy golf. The cardio is being felt. I admire you guys that go on long runs. I can maybe run 1/4 mile and knee pain comes. Nobody ever said this would be easy, only that it was possible.

Hey Guys! I hope everyone had a good week. I am happy that I have lost 4lbs this week. I am happy that yesterday I was able to walk 6.8 miles and today walked 6.7 miles . I am glad we have had warm weather. Since I have increased my walking miles I have noticed my appetite has increased. I normally eat 1100 to 1200 calories a day and the last 2 days about 1500 calories. I signed up for a Run/Walk on March 12th a 10k. I will plan to walk the 6.2 miles. I haven't walked that far in about 20 years. I countinue to eat 3, 3oz meals a day. I am eating about 100+ grams of protein per day. So I have about 32 lbs to reach goal weight. I want to work really hard to try to reach my goal as soon as possible. Thank you guys for sharing your stories! I noticed my weight loss has slowed down somewhat and I am trying to not let that worry me. I am also down from a size 56 waist to size 42 waist. I would really like to get back into strength training. I am about 4.5 most post surgery. Have a good week!
