The Tuff part

I had my RNY back in December and for me the hardest part of this is learning how to eat all over again. Taking SMALL bites and spacing them out instead of just stuffing my face with larger pieces of food at a quicker pace.
It's like my mind is telling me, "Hey, these bites are way too small for you, you need to take bigger ones and get it down as fast as possible! What the heck are you doing?"
I've trying to learn to ignore that urge and eat like I was told to by my Doctor...
Anyone else have know that feeling?
Yes pretty common issue. I also go to a buffet and start to load my plate because in my head I still want the old quantities. It is a process and takes time. One thing I do is a log everything into myfitnesspal. I do it during the meal between bites. It forces me to eat slower, put the fork down and chew. Good luck!

Yeah, I made that mistake before too and boy did I learn to chew better after that lol
RNY...Your pouch is in control...Not you!! One of the first things you learn. A couple more tips (RNY). If your nose starts to drip or you get the hic ups...Stop eating or drinking! Do not pass go...Do not collect $200. It is a way for your pouch to say it's full and step away for a few minutes. LISTEN TO IT...
