First check-in since joining the board and having my VSG!

Healing is going great so far and I think I'm making good progress on the scale. I'm surprised how much food I'm able to keep down and a little worried my sleeve isn't restrictive enough. I'm hoping things will change after I switch to soft foods and then regular foods. I'm still on pureed and very soft foods.

Have been walking quite a bit, but not every day. My goal is to be consistent with walking every day this week. I'll also transition to a soft food diet after meeting with the RD Tuesday.

I've read that a lot of people experience a plateau at weeks 2 or 3. I'm trying to psychologically prepare myself for that.

Good to see your making progress. Make sure your measuring your food ,whatever it is as you are healing and won't really be able to feel full.

Welcome and congratulations. They cut a bunch of nerves when you had surgery. No doubt there is a restriction. Just follow your plan, and don't try to "test" your sleeve. Great job so far.

Congrats on a great start.  Definitely dont sweat the day to day scale.  If you stick with it, it will work.

Hey guys!

Well I have had a fairly good week. Previously I hit a plateau at 245 & just could not lose. Then all of a sudden I dropped to 240. I am using my FitBit and have 20,000 steps today, normally only 10,000.  As someone mentioned above I really struggle with nighttime munchies and just being hungry at night. I continue to get 100 grams of protein. My wife tells me that I am more irritable and more often since surgery.I'm used to coping w stress by OverEating! & now I can't.  I hope I can learn a new way to cope with stress so that I am not so irritated all of the time.

I miss Football season! Also American Sniper is my favorite movie and have seen it twice. I now have a copy of the movie  My second favorite movie is Lone Survivor.

After surgery I hit s long plateau at 292 and that finally passed

I return to my surgeon tomorrow for a check up. Previously my copper level was low. I have been taking Copper supplements.

I am hoping it is back up to a normal level.

Have a good week :)
