Symptom

for the past 3 days my stools have been absolutely charcoal black ( sorry for the fun visual ).  Web MD says it could be two things:  change in diet (obviously no concern to me right now) or gastrointestinal bleeding (obviously a big concern).  I'm sure its likely to be simply the diet change, but I'd rather not die of intestinal bleeding if I can avoid it.

Anybody have any experience with this?  I'd like to find a way to rule out the bleeding without bothering doctors.  Any help is appreciated greatly.

I have never had this happen. However, if I were you, would not HESITATE to contact my WLS surgeon to get it checked into  ASAP!!!

No doctor here...Get it checked out.  If the stool looks like coffee grounds it is probably bleeding.  Certain iron pills will make your stool look black...That could be it too...
