Sunday Weigh in
This is the first week I've moved up. Eeek! I lost 6 pounds a few weeks ago that I attribute to a pretty strong antibiotic which didn't let anything stay in my stomach.
I've also decided my "goal" is 199.9. Since I'm this close, I want to push to get that. If only for 1 day. Then I'll get my maintenance sorted out. Plus that would be a 250+ weight loss total which is nice, fat, round number!
Have a great week everyone!

Well I just went to my surgeon for 2 month post follow up visit. Basically got a good report everything is going well. In about a week I can add vegetables and fruit. Thanks for everyone who posts here! I would be interested to know if you attribute your success post surgery to exercise? I am riding a stationary bike 45 minutes per day and then on the weekends I add a 30 minute walk each day. I have some back issues (spinal stenosis etc) so I really cannot lift weights. I am working out with a 4lb hand held weight unfortunately that is all my back will take. Wanted to get everyones input, to get to your goal weight and maintain your goal do you exercise an hour a day? Do you start to regain weight if you do not exercise? What exercise program do you recommend? I have not joined a gym and not sure if my back could take a treadmill? - Have a good week!

It way easier to control calorie intake and calorie makup (ie high protein, low carbs) then it is to exercise your weight off. Your ability to keep weight off will definitely hinge on your diet.
That said, I also believe that exercise is important. My routine switched from predominantly cardio to predominantly weight lifting over the last year (although I still incorporate some cardio). My goal is to build muscle with the idea that Lb for Lb, muscle burns more calories than fat. I workout for 40 - 45 minutes a day 5 -6 days a week. I find myself fighting regain but when I see an uptick in weight, I jump all over my diet first thing.
If you have health issues however, you can only do what you can. You don't need to be a crosslifter or marathon runner to be successful. Also, if you have health concerns, I would speak to a professional for advice on any training program so you don't hurt yourself.

Steady she goes...was at a good number on scale. Still have a goal to get down to 199, but have a lot to do to get there! Still, having a goal helps as it gives me something to strive for. If nothing else am trying to ensure I do not gain!
Great comments in the thread todayabout how all the following are important: Diet, Vitamins, Water and Exercise. They all count but ultimately in my mind it is the diet that is most important.
Water-OK
Vitamins-Good
Exercise-5 out of 7 did some type of activity, loving warm weather as I am able to run outside!
NSV of the week...seeing an old friend who said I look 10 years younger!
Have a Great Week
