Brutal reminder today that I'm not 20 anymore. After a good night sleep, I went to the gym with high expectations. I wanted to pound out a good workout before coming home to watch the hapless Lions. After a quick warmup on the bench press, I added some weight. Not much mind you. Just a little. BAM, it felt like a knife was stuck in my collarbone. Nope, no bench presses today. OK, I'll just do cardio. No problem. After 15 min of pretty high speed, high resistance eliptcal, I'm feeling confident about a good warmup. Back to the bench press. No Bueno. OK, I'll do some abs - planks - still feels like a knife in my shoulder.
I hate that my body resists my workouts from time to time. I have no idea what's going on, but prior to today I had no issues with my collarbone, and I bet the next time I do bench presses, I'll have no issues. I'm chaulking it up to just being too damn old to recover the way I used to.
On another note (ie Rant), Halloween sucks. I love watching the kids and passing out candy, but I just can't keep my damn hands out of it. I'm glad its over. Its not too early to start planning for The holiday season so I can get through it.
GO BLUE..... that is all
Have a great week all
Highest =427
Day of surgery =362
Last week =238
Today=237
I upped the calories to 1700 and yesterday I got in 2000. Since I ate a chocolate bar Halloween sized. I spoke to the nutritionist and they said I'm probably not settled at this weight and figure it will settle in a few months. To not worry, and continue to exercise.
On a another note I saw temple football almost pull off the biggest win ever, But no. The Eagles are doing their usual. ..tearing my heart out.
I might go for a bike ride during football this week.
Have a GREAT week everyone.

Slow and steady wins the race! I keep telling myself that..... Week went well despite admonishment on the VSG forum from some women who thought the amount of food I was eating at 4 months post-op was clearly out of line. Since my physician recommends 100 grams of protein a day along with 100 grams of carbs, I usually have one meal that is at least 1 cup of food if not a bit more.
I think I will keep my posts here !! haha. My short-term goal of 230 by 12/23 is looking good at this time... might be able to go to 226 even.

My deepest apologies for missing last week. I will cut to the chase and come right out and tell y'all I was in Atlanta, GA 1. to watch Mississippi State skin Kentucky Saturday week ago, 24th, (play Missouri this Thursday) and 2. load up the girlfriend and bring her ass to Texas. Long time readers will know that I was involved with and lived with her several years ago. Thought the grass was greener on the other side of the fence and it turned out to be bull nettle (stinging weed) and grass spurs. (little sticker balls that hurt like a ***** when you find one with your little toe at 02:00 when you are up to take a whiz) She and I had been texting/talking and traveling back and forth for several months. For obvious reasons it had to stay on the down low till some issues from both sides were resolved. We hauled a lot of the critical stuff, clothes, computers etc, in a 10' U-Haul, car hauler brought her 2nd car over and rest went with moving company yet to get here.
Have to go back to work tomorrow so I can rest!!
Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

Not quite a full pound, but I'll take it. I trended up to about 223 earlier in the week. I suspect stress and not sleeping played a role. Food was really consistent all week and exercise goals met everyday. I did miss some of my water goals a bit. I aim for 12 servings a day and ended up with 9/10 on some days.
I'm still keeping calories around 700-750 per day, but considering adding a bit more back in. I think I just want to squeeze out a few more pounds first before I try to get into more of a maintenance mode. This losing thing is addicting and I want to go for just a bit longer. I have no real goal, I never thought I'd get to 220 ever. So I'm a bit "let's just enjoy this ride" and see where I net.
Have a great week!
