Dog Days of Summer Weigh In
I have a terrible time at night. I was not really a snacker before surgery, and I've developed a crappy habit, so I can relate. I'm still trying different things such as eating dinner later and planning some snacks into my day, but its still a problem. My cravings aren't for sweets, but rather for crispy (salty or sweet doesn't matter).
I started taking creatin as a pre-workout supplement. When I take it, I retain water like crazy. When I travel and stop using it, I generally lose some weight which I attribute to water.
My hardest time is at night also. Most nights I have about an ounce of peanuts, and they still fit into my calories for the day. But I have to be really careful.

John, this is an excellent graphic depicting another one of Mr. Berry’s excellent insights ala his “Solving for Pattern” essay.

This week I’m up 1.4 lbs overall but up 1.4 lbs muscle mass – so status quo body fat-wise. I made it to the gym 5 days this past week for cardio and strength training. I did ok mindfully eating. Protein was good and water ok.
Heat indexes are getting up into the 110°F range – so hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
Be safe & have a great week gentlemen!

I got the frustration thing going on bad... Crappy week at work; lots of long days and of course, the gym time suffered. Only got there twice last week, but set personal records on the elliptical (distance in shortest time: 4 miles in 36 minutes, or a 9 minute mile average) and the other day was just distance... 5 miles in 47 minutes Yeah, I'm a slacker. ;-)
The MyFitness Pal app is constantly giving me grief for not meeting my caloric intake for the day, but I'm meeting and exceeding my protein and vitamin minimums. And yet... Results? Not as I'd expect at this point.
I swear you could build a pattern for a staircase from a graph of my weight loss and stalls. Ok, so not really defined as a "stall", but damn... And to top it off, the BMI calculator shows that WHEN (I am determined to get there) I meet the Doctors goal for me of 210-215, i will still be considered as "overweight".
Hell, I sound like some of the women over on the RNY page...
Sorry guys. It's a Monday, I guess in every sense of the word!
Stay Strong!
