"WASMAS" is the personalized plate I'm thinking of putting on the car if I buy it from her. Pony is 10+ years old and has less than 20,000 miles on it! Been garaged the entire time she's owned it.

Great job!!

I'm sitting at Midway airport right now as I type this. I generally travel every week someplace. Some destinations are easier to eat healthy than others. As you get further out from your surgery, You'll be able to tolerate much more variety. I know that when I travel, I can try lots of different things as long as I moderate, log and stay with generally healthy options. I don't have to indulge every meal, but I can once in a while without remorse. I actually find it easier to travel most weeks because I can go to restaurants with healthy choices for the most part, and I don't have access to snacks at night.

Keep up the good work!

Great information one "road warrior" to another on how to stay on track when away from home.

John,

thank you. I appreciate the support.  It's going to take a little bit to get used to this way of life. But all good. Thanks my friend.

Weight before pre op 5 weeks ago today -  311

Weight day of surgery 4 weeks ago today -  299

Weight last 2 weeks -  285 (ish)

Today's weight at surgeon office for check up -  279

Total 5 week weight loss of 32lbs.

I finally got this medical Slider scale I have at home calibrated to my surgeons scale. It was about 4lb lower than his was so my weight was higher than I thought for a while there. That's a fun mind game right? Anyway I was at surgeons office today and very happy to see the 8lb loss since the visit there 2.5 weeks ago because I've been stalled up pretty good for a while, hopefully this is a sign of some progress for a while at least.

Have a good week guys!

Being the engineer I am, I did some complicated math and divided 32 by 5. Using my calculator I find you have averaged 6.4 lbs/week. By my calculations this is pretty much describes your progress.....

Excellent! Don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic with the overall progress. I just stalled up for a bit, as expected, for about 2 weeks there. I had lost 12 of those lbs in the preop diet and 14 more in the 10 days after surgery. It was just the last 2 weeks. But if I can average 3-5lb a week loss over a couple months that will make me one happy camper...rather fisherman.

I also feel much more stable now that I'm into soft foods and can add some protein sources that aren't liquid. My 2 incisions that are open (the main drain one and another that I somehow blew the stitches out of) should hopefully be closed up in the next week or two then I'll be pretty much in the clear from recovery and focusing solely on my future as a permanent member of the losers bench. I'm anxious to get cleared for activity so I can get back to running and adding some weight work as well, all in due time.

Dan
