I’m down another 1.4 lbs overall this week but down 5 lbs muscle mass. Being on the road I made it to the hotel fitness center on 4 days this past week for cardio, but no strength training. The numbers show it. I did ok mindfully eating. Being back home this week, I hope to get back in my regular routine.
I can’t seem to get into March Madness this year even though the First Four kicked off in Dayton this past week. It’s good to be back home where I can hang up my winter coat in the closet for good this year.
Be safe & have a great week gentlemen!
-Mike

Big drop for me this week. I was actually down a pound more yesterday morning, but it jumped up a little this morning. I thought my 4 pound weeks were behind me, so I've been very happy with this. My gym situation sucked this week. Because of work and appointments, I couldn't go Mon-Thurs. I was back there Fri, yesterday, and will be going today. Then, I'll have to miss at least Mon-Wed again this week, and maybe Thurs also.
I haven't been into March Madness either. I didn't even fill out a bracket this year. I just hope someone beats Kentucky eventually.
I'm really looking forward to Friday, when we go to see Heart and Joan Jett! It's my first concert since losing my weight, and I know it'll be great to actually fit in the seats. We're calling this year our "concert year" because we have tickets for 7 concerts right now, and may go to a couple more.
And Mike, I'm with you about putting winter behind us. I took apart my coat and have been wearing just the shell for almost two weeks now. Of course, it was only about 17 degrees this morning when I had to go out and do a little work, but it'll be back to normal temps in a day or two. I'm really looking forward to summer this year!
Keep it up guys!

Winter is done here. The lawn mowers have come out of their hiding places. Problem is that it is too wet to mow! Managed to get closest to the house done so the dog can see where she is doing her business but otherwise rest will have to wait. Have sunshine mid-week but my calendar is inked in with a court hearing, an in-service in Tyler and a couple of other things that are going on. Fingers crossed maybe next weekend.
Could care less for basketball in general. Always too slow, too short and could not jump - except to conclusions.

Well, not really surprised my weight went up. Not a good week eating and or exercise so when off plan these things happen!
Eating: OK week. Unfortunately in reflecting realize alot of stress eating...work, home etc life being life and I resort to my old standby food to deal. Will be making an effort to me mindful this week!
Vitamins: On check continue to take all necessary for post op.
Water:Still not getting in the recommended 64 oz but am improving!
Exercise: Only got to the gym 3 times..even at that pretty uninspired effort! Still, today did 3 miles and 1/4 mile swim so good start to the week!
Support: I had an appointment for my 4 1/2 year checkup. Doc said I am doing well for 4 1/2 years post op..had a great talk with Dietician about eating and overall health...also per the biometric scale all of my measurements are at or below "average" range which is a good thing, the number I was most excited about was my Body Fat % is 22% which she said is great as for a man my age and height anything under 28 is excellent!!
Have a great week
Yours in WLS Journey,
Bill Mac
3 weeks out from surgery, slightly disappointed this week. I was down 28lb at my 10 day checkup and have only dropped 2lbs since then. Last Monday I weighed in 282.5, this morning I am 281.5. I understand things will be on and off the entire time, I know weight-loss as well as anyone from my history with it. It is just concerning considering how little caloric/carb intake I've had since surgery and still being on full liquid stage. What worries me is starting soft foods tomorrow and doing more harm than good. If I am essentially maintaining on liquids what the hell will happen with real food? Ha.
I'm not letting it rain on my parade tho, I'm in this for the long haul and I know things will fire up at some point. I guess I just wish I wasn't teased with the huge drop so quickly after surgery. I have one month checkup next Monday and if I'm only down 3-4lbs since last checkup I'm going to feel like a real idiot. Oh well, slow and steady, right?
