Last week was a little tougher than I thought it would be. Still, I was able to get to the gym three times, and I was diligent with my vitamins. I need to do better with my eating. I know I overate, and the results are pretty clear above.

I learned something important last week.....Reactive Hypoglycemia.......I woke up one night after about 2 hours of sleep, absolutely drenched and disoriented. I was sweating so much that my wife thought I had just stepped out of the shower. I was to disoriented to take my blood sugar, but after a few minutes I realized my sugar was low. Two days later, the same thing happened, but this time I was smart enough to get a blood glucose reading. It was 42!  After doing some reading on OH, it seems that the nighttime snacks (mostly carbs) are coming home to roost. Since surgery, I've never really had any issue eating anything. Now, I have a physical reason to limit carbs. Its both a good thing and a bad thing. Now that I can physically feel what happens when I eat crap, I know that I need to stay on course.

Stay strong everyone, and have a great week.

Last week:  171.4

This week:  169.6

Long time since I've been sub 170!  Guessing it may be attributable to either some muscle atrophy from not having had any exercise in a couple of weeks or eating my own cooking again!  Seriously.  I've been able to get back to eating the way I did early out and it appears to be agreeing with me.

The RH can sneak up on you.  Have had it happen a few times.  Scary when it does.

Y'all have a Great Week!

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

High Weight: 380

Starting Weight: 350

Last Week: 244.3

Current Weight: 241.9

This week was just like last week:  my weight went up on Monday, stayed there for 2-3 days, then started to come down again.  I'm starting to get better at not sweating the daily weights, and having this check-in on Sunday helps, because I focus on the weekly results.  I can be very happy with almost 2.5 lbs gone in a week.

I've also been doing a lot of reflecting this week on how far I've come.  I still have problems recognizing how good I look when I look in the mirror.  Being over 300 lbs for more than 20 years has messed with my mind.  But the smaller clothes sizes don't lie.  And we had to book our spring break hotel this week.  Last year on spring break, the thing that finally pushed me to getting surgery was the water park we took my daughter to.  I didn't really care about walking around in just a swimsuit at 350 lbs.  But when I stood in line with her for the waterslide, got all the way to the top, and had to turn around and leave because the slide weight limit was 250 lbs, it crushed me.  I had been thinking about surgery for years, but this was the straw that broke the camel's back.

I'm now under that limit, and it feels pretty good.  I hit goal #1, which was to get to 250 lbs.  This was also my surgeon's goal weight for me.  Goal #2 is 230 lbs.  I'm only 12 lbs away!  And my ultimate goal is to get to 210 lbs.  This is what I weighed in high school, and would be a very healthy weight for me.  I need to keep working hard during the honeymoon phase and try to get there.

139 Total Weight Loss

Well, the old axiom of what goes up must come down seems to be in reverse in that what goes down must go up. Still, happy that there was ony a 1 lb gain as I did an ok job in terms of eating, but the grazing at nite is worse than a bunch of cows in a corn field!!! Need to focus on that part for sure.

Exercise was great...able to get in workouts 6/7 days a variety of running, spin, body pump, swimming

Water and vitamins ok for the week.

Another winter storm in MA, guess my hopes of last week were not granted!

Have a great week!

Pretty good week. I got in 10,000 steps everyday! With the weather and cold, I did a lot of mall walking. But it all works. I've been really active on the exercise bicycle, too. I could only go for 5 minutes on the easiest level a few months ago. Now, I'm up to 20 or so on a medium-to-hard level. That feels like a win!

Have a great week, everyone!

Well, not as much weight loss as I'd like this week, but less than 5 grams of carbs a day so no BM's

Had my monthly check up with my PCP this week, A1c at 5, so finally off the diabetes meds  He also cut my BP meds in half, which was significant since I had CHF prior to the surgery. He found my Uric Acid levels to be high which had never been the case before (anyone else have this happen?), he said it might be attributed to muscle loss + too much coffee ? I don't know, so he gave me some meds for that. Good week all in all, trying to stop obssesing on weight  loss numbers. Hope everything goes well with the rest of you guys.

Thanks Don, for a minute there I almost thought I wouldn't. I kept reading about people leaving the hospital off their meds, and thought it wasn't going to happen for me.
