hello all, I had the gastric bypass over 4.5 years ago, so far so good, but my doctor wanted a endoscopic test done, below are the results but he called today and stated I may need revision surgery because my food, water is going down faster than it should, the pouch looks normal, anyone else have this problem??  I work out 4-5 times a week and I've been pretty strict with my diet/lifestyle change and have only gained approx 16 lbs

results of test:

The esophagus is normal. The gastric pouch measures 3.9 x 4.3 x 5.2 cm.

The gastric remnant empties promptly into the jejunum with opacification

of both the distal limb and almost immediately there is opacification of

the proximal limb.

The gastrojejunal anastomosis is widely patent measuring up to 2.2 cm

maximally in diameter. There is mild dilatation of the proximal limb

which measures 2.7 cm compared with diameter of the distal limb at 1.8

cm.

IMPRESSION:

1. Normal appearance of the gastric pouch. Gastric jejunal anastomosis

is widely patent.

2. Almost time obtaining is filling of both the proximal and distal

limbs of the anastomosis. There is mild distention of the proximal limb,

finding which may lead to overgrowth.

I'm curious ..  did you have an endoscopy done or was it the older style "Upper GI w. contrast" (x-ray)?   Reason I ask is that my surgeon (in Brazil) has been wanting me to get an Upper GI done for over 2 years now (he suspects my sleeve is much enlarged) but I have not been able to find a place that actually does the procedure (most don't even know what it is!).  Since I don't have ins. I really can't afford an endoscopy.

Frank talk about the DS / "All I ever wanted to be was thin, like that Rolling Stones dude ... "

HW/461 LW/251 GW/189 CW/274 (yep, a DS semi-failure - it happens :-( )
