Sunday Weigh-in, Anyone??
Sorry Don, but I've been looking forward to today for a couple of days. I'm back home and starting back my regular routine. 17 days post-op and feeling really good. still in liquid diet and getting all my fluids in. Lost another 8lbs this week!!!!
HW 365lbs. 7/2014
SW 350 lbs. 11/6/2014
CW 320lbs!!!!
Sumo, no apology necessary for jumping the gun!
Don't see the Top four changing this week. Cowboys not playing till this evening.
Been ***** of week. Wife had two family member pass near Beaumont so had to contend with back to back funerals and a lot of driving. Too much eating and not enough exercise last few days. Digits show it:
Last week: 175.6
This week: 178.0
More traveling and eating with this week being Thanksgiving. Safe travels!
Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!
@Sumo, good job! Welcome to the losers bench!
@Don, hang in there!
@John, this too will pass!
My stats this week:

Pre-op Weight 4 Aug 09: 377.5 lbs
1st Surgiversary: 241.0 lbs
2nd Surgiversary: 212.5 lbs
3rd Surgiversary: 217.0 lbs
4th Surgiversary: 214.0 lbs
5th Surgiversary: 223.0 lbs
Last week: 224.8 lbs / 21.7% body fat / 167.8 lbs muscle mass
This week: 227.8 lbs / 21.3% body fat / 170.4 lbs muscle mass
I’m up 3.0 lbs overall and up 2.6 lbs muscle mass. Being on the road last week, I made it to the hotel fitness center on three days for cardio, but didn’t do so well mindfully eating. Between Thanksgiving office spreads and a colleague’s retirement party, I didn’t dodge the carb minefields so well. T-Day this week will be another challenge. I gotta make better food choices.
My Vols hung tough with Missouri but couldn’t go the distance losing 29-21. Next week we play Vandy in Nashville. Maybe we can end the season batting 500 with MSU softening up Vandy really good yesterday 51-0. The Falcons lost to the Browns in a nail-biter, 26-24 with the Browns kicking a FG with 5 secs left. Cardinals come to the GA Dome next Sunday.
On a more serious note, I find myself thinking about those for whom I’m thankful. I’m thankful for those who developed RNY surgery which has given me a new lease on life. I’m thankful for my surgeon, Dr. Champion, his staff, and the bariatric staff at Atlanta’s Northside hospital. I’m thankful for the men and women who serve our nation both abroad and at home putting their lives in harm’s way every day to keep me and my family safe and secure. I pray this Thanksgiving that all who I’m thankful for will know that they and their service is valued and appreciated.
Be safe & have a great Thanksgiving gentlemen!
-Mike

Last few weeks did not check in. I have hit a snag in maintenance. I had gotten as low as 196 and maintained that for some time. Over the last 3 months or so my weight has gone up to a high of 215. Today, it was 210 after not having eaten breakfast and going on a 6 mile run with my dog Roscoe.
My diet is up and down. Basically I eat ok during the day. Usually healthy and appropriate amounts. However I have 2 timea of the day I struggle with. In between lunch and dinner; and after dinner and before bed. I end up grazing like a COW picking on this that and the other. Ugghh.
I try to keep maintenance one day at a tiime, even one meal at a time! It is a struggle, but a worthy one at that.
I can say I LOVE this site and the posts from all of you. Knowing I am not alone is a very comforting feeling.
I am thankful for my surgery that gave me a fighting chance with my weight and more importantly my health. Further, I am blessed with family, friends anc overall a very good life.
Be well, hope you all have a nice week!
Yours in WLS Journey,
Bill Mac
I have the same problem with grazing; I found that by keeping good high protein snacks on hand, it wasn't such a problem.
Try Greek yogurt with your favorite fruit and a sf sweetener. Also good, turkey jerky (lots of good flavors), high protein count bars like the Oh Yeah!. Also, sometimes it can just be a matter of a tall drink of water, then wait for half-an-hour, and if you're still hungry, then snack.
Grazing is a constant struggle for me as well. I know that its partially habit, but that is tempered with my caloric intake vs excersize. These days, as I try to get more active, I may be at the gym for an hour and then through the day try to walk more. I know I am burning lots of calories. On a typical day in the evening, when I am done with dinner, I have usually consumed about 1200 calories. Based on my weight and excersize, I know I'm in a pretty severe deficit and I am truely hungry. The problem I have is on days when I know I am not hungry (becasue I have consumed well enough calories with little excersize) and I am still hungry. In that case, I am dealing with head hunger and cant stop grazing.
The key to my success is to determin when I am truely hungry and when I am dealing with head hunger. When I get that worked out, i will be well on my way to long term success.
Hi everyone!
A day late, but it still counts, right?
High Weight: 380
Starting Weight: 350
Last Week: 291
Current Weight: 289
Over halfway to my goal!
And John, as a UM and Lions fan, I'm with you! I really expected Michigan to win. And now, I just read that they're opening as 20 point underdogs against Ohio. At least the season will be over soon, I guess.
As for the Lions, I didn't honestly expect them to win, but I expected them to be competitive. But hey, at least we get the Bears on Thursday.

Wanted to give a shout out to the East Carolina Pirates, they had a great start this year, and were contenders for a real good bowl bid. They fell asleep a couple games in conference play but finally came out of their slump this week. Also capping National Headlines ECU WR Justin Hardy sets new NCAA Career Receptions Record. He is going to be a beast at the next level.
