sometimes I get sugar lows and need to eat something after surgery will I be able to eat sugar?

That's a pretty general question. Without knowing the surgery you are planning, its tough to answer. If you have RnY, about 30% or so have issues with "dumping" when they eat certain foods (espeically sugary foods). I don't experiance that, and find I can tolerate anything. What I found is that eating a healthy diet that has lots of protein and fiber, while minimizing simple carbs, has not only helped me lose weight, but stablized my blood glucose. Of course, you really should be talking to your own physician about this stuff.

Don't recommend sugar.  If you feel the need to address low blood sugar do some protein and complex carbs;  pb & apple slices, etc.
