Sunday Weigh In
John,
If your comments and behavior are predictors of being anorexic, then I'm one too. I'm an engineer as well and think it's a professional "hazard" to track data as a way to explain "what's wrong" and "how to fix it". I have a saying: "without data it's just a rumor".
On the workout front, we all struggle with replacing "bad" behaviors with "good" behaviors. Liking to workout or missing it when you don't workout is not the same as obsessing about working out. I see exercise as a way to meet a goal of better health: increased muscle mass; better cardio function; better joint flexability; decreased insulin resistance; and yes, as a way to maintain a stable body mass.
I believe bariatric therapist is the better way to go. S/he will have a better perspective of what you're going through physically, emotionally, and psychologically.
Good luck!
-Mike
