Goody! Goody! Remedial RNY is working!
Got labs back and all were good except the ferritin. Guess I'll try an OTC iron supplement for a while to see if it will bring it up. Don't care to go the infusion route.
Normally I don't give a rat's patootie about the NBA playoffs but despite the off court distraction the Clippers had to endure it was great that they won their Game 7. Go Mavs!
Have a Great Week!

Don Glad you had a good week. Not much of a NBA fan myself. Hockey that is a different story Go Bruins.
Went in for a Nut. visit this week. Going by their scale I am down 49 pounds in 7 weeks. I have been moved onto "normal eating". It still amazes me how different every surgeon/nutritionist plans are. The plan they gave me has a list of foods to avoid and suggested alternatives. They want you eating 3-4 meals a day with minimal snacking focusing on protein first. They do not focus on calories or amount of protein. The theory behind it is if you are eating your 3-4 meals with proper portion sizes you will get your requirements. I am not sure I agree and will still track my meals until I can prove to myself that the numbers are consistent.
I start the new job tomorrow. Today is the first day off I have had in 17 days and I plan doing not a whole lot.
Hope everyone had a great week.
Awesome results - avg. 7 pounds a week. Nice. Unfortunately, I'm a Flyers fan, so not much to be excited about, but I have to say this year's playoffs has me watching. I've made a deal with myself - if I'm going to spend a few hours watching hockey, at least 1 hours has to be while I'm on the treadmill. I'm sticking to it for the most part, but when you add up all the hours you can spend watching sports, it's not always a great feeling. Anyway, good luck to your Bruins - many say they are the favorite to win this year.

Well, a pound is a pound! Happy to see the scale moving down instead of up anytime! Overall, better week of eating for the most part. Couple of slip ups in terms of poor food choices, but MUCH better than the previous week. Need to stay focused each time to be mindful what I am eating!!
Also, doing a good job with vitamins and water. Water is so tough at times, generally don't like it, but keep a bottle in hand at all times to remind me!
Good week for exercise, was able to work out 6 out of 7 days. Combination of cardio and strength training.
Hope you all have a great week!!
Yours in WLS Journey,
Bill Mac

I thought I was going to have a mediocre week, but as it turns out, I'm pretty happy with the results. I have been eating a little more (up to 1200 calories some days), but I have been getting between 80 - 100 gms of protein a day. I've been incredibly hungry especially at night, but as I think about it, I have been burning 900 - 1000 calories a day in excersize, so being hungry is normal I think. I got to the gym three times for an hour of eliptical each and the personal trainer twice for strength training and stretching. I see the dietician this week, so I'll get a better sense of whether I am doing OK.
On another note, In December, when I started my pre-op diet, I was wearing 4XLT shirts. A couplemonths ago, I bought some 2XLT, and now these are getting too big on me. I was at Destination XL yesterday and bought 1XLT shirts. I have been able to start shopping in regular stores as well. I spent a lot of money on golf shirts so I could look decent in an office environment as well as in fornt of customers (being in the Steel Industry allows me to dress a little more casually). Anyway, Now I nee dto figure out what to do with several very nice lightly worn golf shirts. I am going to donat all my 3XLT and above thsi week, which will empty my closet, but I am thinking of trying to sell the last batch of cloths. Any ideas on the best way (E-bay, craigslist etc)?
Anyway, I hope everyone has a great week.
John
I am in the same boat with the 4XL to XL/2XL. I have all this clothing just piled up and my closet looks empty. Not sure how much longer DXL will be getting my business. I am going to put some stuff up on eBay and see how that works out. I'll share a few links. So much of it still has tags on it and many of the clothes are hardly used. Some will definitely be going to charity. If anyone on here needs 4X or 3X stuff, let me know, I'm happy to give it away.
Just a reminder on the older clothing...Bring it to the support group meeting and give it away, "pay it forward". It also gets you to the local support meeting. I only get to them now about 1-2 times a year. The first few years I was there about 9 out of 12 months. When I go I try to sit next to a large guy or two. See if they are looking into surgery or just had it. Try and answer questions if I can. Brian
3 game 7's yeasterday and I too am glad the Clippers won and can move on past this bs. How about the Thunder game. And the Portland game the other night ending with that great 3 point shot. Good stuff.
