Well crud.  Still riding higher than I want too especially since I make the annual pilgrimage to my WLS surgeon's office Wednesday.  I'll blame it on chronic thyroid problem.  Had it "nuked" 20+ years ago and been on Synthroid, or generic, ever since and think I'm having malabsorbition issues.

As you venture around the various boards on OH and see a new male poster - invite them over here!  More the merrier.  We'll see more of Sam now that tax season is over.

Speaking of taxes hope everyone got your taxes done.  If not we'll come visit you.  Remember it was not the FBI that got Al Capone in Federal Prison.  It was the IRS!

Happy Easter and go work your program!

I'm sandbagging a  little this week, I was down more yesterday, but up today.

Taxes are done (whew) and the frozen tundra is starting to thaw. Its one of the nicesest days of the season. Too bad my morning started with a fraud alert on my debit card.

I was able to get to the gym three times last week, and got a short 3K walk in yesterday. I started personal training in ernest thsi week as well so I am hoping to build some muscle mass going forward which may slow down the weight loss. Not a problem, this is a marathon not a sprint right!!

I'm still struggling with some old demons that paid a viist last night. Fortunatly the snacking was mostly healthy, but Its still an issue I need to work on.

Yesterday as we were shopping for easter dinner, it was a little shocking the contrast between dinner last year and dinner this year:

Last Year

Honey Baked Ham

Au gratin Potato’s

Green bean casserole

Salad

Cream Pie (of some sort)

Dinner this year

Steamed Sea Bass

Jumbo lump crab ****tail ( as well as a topper for the fish)

Spinach

Roasted Sweet potato

Pineapple

I feel healthier already!!!

Happy Easter everyone. I hope everyone has a great week.

Well, it's been a few weeks since I checked in - this nice weather has me busy.

405 ==> Highest Weight  (7/19/2013) and start of program

352 ==> Weight on the day of surgery  (53 pounds lost pre-op)  (12/27/2013)

311 ==> 2 months out  (41 pounds lost post-op, 94 pounds lost overall)  (2/27/2014)

297 ==> 3 months out  (3/27/2014)

290 ==> Last week

285 ==> This week

Down 5 pounds, doing very well, feeling very blessed on this Easter Sunday.

Fitting in clothes better and better, lots of people at work asking questions, inspiring some in my family and amongst my friends, feeling a sense of personal accomplishment.

Training for a 5k using Couch to 5K, on week 8 - to think I can run 2 miles without stopping is something I could have never done.  Everyone have a great week.

Still moving along. Only about a 4 pound lost this week but still better than I could do on my own. My working overnight and to many hours may have resolved itself. I received a job offer off of an interview I had last August. It is not quite the money I am looking for but the reality is it gets me off of night shift and the benefits are good. I am supposed to let them know tomorrow.

Have a great week everyone.

Good luck on the job front, I'm sure you feel a lot more confident @ 276 than you may have @ 348!  Keep up the good work!

@Don, good luck with your annual labs!

@John, great job!  Health is the end goal; weight loss is one component to get there.

@RNYGuyPA, feelings of personal accomplishments are the biggest FARTs of all!

@Kevin, way to go!  Good luck on the new job.

    My stats this week:

           High weight:  392.0 lbs
Pre-op Weight 4 Aug 09:  377.5 lbs
      1st Surgiversary:  241.0 lbs
      2nd Surgiversary:  212.5 lbs
      3rd Surgiversary:  217.0 lbs
      4th Surgiversary:  214.0 lbs
             Last week:  220.4 lbs / 20.4% body fat / 166.8 lbs muscle mass
             This week:  221.4 lbs / 21.0% body fat / 166.4 lbs muscle mass

This week I’m up 1 lb overall with 0.4 lbs down muscle mass.  On the road this past week, I made it to the hotel gym on 3 days.  I did ok mindfully eating though consumed more carb calories than normal.  At least I’m home for a few weeks so hopefully my regular routine will help.

Be safe & have a great week gentlemen!

Hi everyone,

I just stumbled across this group and decided to join in on the Sunday weigh-ins.  I am a little over 5 months out and so far everything has gone great, with the exception of frequent trouble eating proteins.  Best of all, my Diabetes is now in remission. Today I finally saw the scale move in the right direction after being stuck for 4 weeks.  I blame that to the 6 weeks I recently spent in a walking boot after having foot surgery in February (and sneaking a little candy here and there).  I saw my wife's family today for the first time since surgery and they were all very surprised by the weigh loss.  Naturally, everybody asked how I did it and I just replied that I eat a lot less, I don't drink soda any more and I get lots of exercise - all true statements.

Have a blessed Easter everyone.
