Winter has come back to Texas with a vengeance!  Had a 30 degree drop in the temperature from the time we went to bed last night till we got up this morning. Tomorrow is going to be colder.  We may not get feet of snow like our neighbors in the North but a tenth of an inch of ice and we shut down everything!  Was off Friday and did a bunch of yard work so "mowing" season has returned.  Hoping the grass spurs have a crop failure this year.

Scales not under the red line again this week.  Big morning stinky did not help much either.  Going to say it is lean muscle build up from yard work on Friday.

Have a Great Week gents!

Hi All, First time posting here, so here we go

337.6:  High weight Dec '13
311.3:  Surgery day 1/16/14
273.0:  CW
180.0: Goal weight

I've been traveling like crazy lately again. I was actually in Texas last week (Beaumont and Midlothian) for three days. On that trip, I was able to still lose 4#. No yard work here yet, there's still two feet of snow on teh ground and the temp today was -12 degrees when I woke up. Forecast is for -16 degrees tomorrow morning. I was still able to get to the Mall of America yesterday and today to get a couple of 5K walks in.

I just finalized my travel plans for the rest of march and found out that between March 6 and March 28, I will only be home 2 days. Lots of eating out and airplane food. I've done well traveling so far, but this is definitly going to be a challenge.

Familiar with both places.  Wife has family near the former and the later is about hour from here.

I don't think I could do the "road warrior" thing.  Like sleeping in my own bed too much.

Hi All,

I skipped weigh in last week, ended up with another kidney stone event and a trip to the ER. It came on so fast I thought something else was wrong, I lived lol. I don't' like Those at all going to have this one checked out to see what it's made of. I'm down 2 lbs this week. I'm keeping up with my running and walking, trying to get Faster, other that that I too am tired of this winter enough already and that's coming from a North Dakotan lol. Everybody have a great week

Thanks

Shane

405 ==> Highest Weight  (7/19/2013) and start of program

352 ==> Weight on the day of surgery  (53 pounds lost)  (12/27/2013)

311 ==> 2 months out  (41 pounds lost since surgery, 94 pounds lost overall)  (2/27/2014)

317 ==> Last week

311 ==> This week

Down 6, not bad at all and I'm closing in on a few big milestones, nearly 100 pounds lost, about halfway to goal, almost under 300.  It won't be long now, pressing forward with Couch to 5K, following plan, moving ahead, feeling good.  Clothes are running out, going to have to buy some interim things.

The Numbers:
346: All time high 7/1/10 - BMI = 52
326: Tufts Medical Center, Surgery 12/27/10 BMI=49
196: Weigh In 2/23/14

196: This Week 3/2/14 -->0 lb change BMI=29

150 Total Weight Loss

Steady she goes this week. No loss or gain, just maintaining which I am happy about. I have a thing about stability...particularly when it comes to my weight!

In terms of eating, did so prettty mindfully for the week, good on the vitamins, but need to work on water intake. Prefer other things like coffee and tea, but know I got to get that H2o in!

Good week of exrecise, ran 5 out of 7 days. Today still too cold to run outside so ran at local high school on the track. Like it MUCH more than the treadmill..but hoping to be outside soon!!

@Don, know what you mean about the “Polar Vortex”.  This southern boy is freezing his a$$ off in Ohio!

@QAjohn, I feel your “travel” pain!  Great progress!

@Shane, ouch!  Been there, done that, got the kidney stone T-shirt a few times.  Make sure to get in 64 oz H20 on a non-workout day – 64 oz plus whatever you sweat on a workout day.  Dehydration can cause seed stones to grow and not flush “unnoticed”.

@RNYguyPA, excellent!  Keep it up!

@Bill Mac, WTG!

    My stats this week:

           High weight:  392.0 lbs
Pre-op Weight 4 Aug 09:  377.5 lbs
      1st Surgiversary:  241.0 lbs
      2nd Surgiversary:  212.5 lbs
      3rd Surgiversary:  217.0 lbs
      4th Surgiversary:  214.0 lbs
         Two weeks ago:  225.0 lbs / 21.0% body fat / 169.0 lbs muscle mass
             Last week:  222.0 lbs / ?% body fat / ? lbs muscle mass
             This week:  225.2 lbs / 20.4% body fat / 170.4 lbs muscle mass

Ok, I’m officially late again in checking in.  I was home for a long weekend and back out on the road again yesterday.  I made it to the hotel fitness center 3 times last week.  The numbers are pretty much status quo from 2 weeks ago reaffirming my fear that the hotel scale can’t be trusted.  That’s the problem with using more than 1 scale to measure.  However, I did break the 170 lbs muscle mass barrier for the first time.  I’ve got to redouble my efforts to increase my cardio time and eat better.

I hope to be home this next weekend for a least a couple of weeks.  Living out of a suitcase is getting old.

Be safe & have a great week gentlemen!

-Mike
