Pre Christmas Weigh In

171.6 - Last week

172.8 - This week

The tree is still in the store room, no lights are strung out side, the inflatable Santa is still in his box and they are going to remain as they are.  The wife's work situation and schedule being up in the air did not helping with the planning or execution of any Christmas related plans.  She did bring the granddaughter's back with her yesterday and after seeing "Frozen" with them last night going to a local drive through Christmas light park tonight.  They go back to their rightful owners Christmas Eve. kiss Logistics won't allow for all of us to get together till after the First.

Walking the food tightrope is tricky this time of year.  Obviously the sweets are tempting but I tried some of my Chief's deer chili at the office Christmas dinner.  It was too spicy and within an hour or so was causing me a case of the "drizzlies".  Knew from the first taste it was going to be trouble!  Looks like the exercising can remain on track through the Holidays.  I'll just have to put the headphones on to hear the TV and ignore the granddaughters while I treadmill and watch the Cowboys and Giants.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah or Happy Kwanzaa depending on which, if any, of the festivities you partcipate.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

I've gained 10 pounds just since September so I'm back up to 393 lbs . I'll do my best to stay on the right side of the 400 mark this Christmas I promise. Wish me luck.

Hope you'll have time to watch TV, Don :). And Merry Christmas to all of you guys!!!

Down 2 this week. Cannot say it is due to eating, as the holidays can damn near destroy any efforts at eating right. I swear any time of day I am in the area of food that I just should not eat and it is hard to resist the temptation every time! However, doing the best I can, one day at a time.

Exercise is good, been doing Spin classes and running.

I cannot speak for anyone else, but I love the holidays, but between he food and family stress, look forward to them ending as well!

In any event, Happy Happy to you all for whatever you celebrate!

Have a Great week all!

355 is where I started this journey!!

201 this morning's weigh in, it has been creeping up from 195 since I cut back on my running in early November and so I hit the road again on Saturday.  With a nifty new GPS watch that my brother gave me for Christmas, I logged in 5.25 miles in 1:01.  I found a new bit of trail that I really liked, at the dead end of a street there is a path through the woods that they use for servicing some billboards and it then dumps me out into another neighborhood.  So with that, I can make a full loop instead of running out and back as much.

Continuing on with the 100 push up challenge as well!  This morning the sets were 36/40/30/24/40 for a grand total of 170!!  I can see a big time improvement in my chest, arms and shoulders.  I know my form is a bit sloppy when pushing out that many in a row, but I want to do the full program, hit "100" and then work on slower reps / perfect form, maybe narrow my hands towards the "diamond" pushups, etc.

Lots of Xmas treats around and that is also part of the gain.  Another week and half and then it will be my busy season, (I do taxes) and I actually do really well during this period because my schedule is so hectic.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!  (I will be traveling next week, in FL and not bac****il our first check in for January!)

@Don, spending time with the fam with or without decorations (along with venison chili) creates lifelong memories!

@Johan, good luck mindfully eating this holiday!

@Bill Mac, agree with the mixed feelings for the holiday season – enjoy it all but am so glad when it’s over!

@Sam, safe travels!

    My stats this week:

           High weight:  392 lbs
Pre-op Weight 4 Aug 09:  377.5 lbs
      1st Surgiversary:  241.0 lbs
      2nd Surgiversary:  212.5 lbs
      3rd Surgiversary:  217.0 lbs
      4th Surgiversary:  214.0 lbs
Last week:  221.6 lbs / 21.7% body fat / 165.0 lbs muscle mass
This week:  224.2 lbs / 21.1% body fat / 168.4 lbs muscle mass

Well, I threw my back out early last week and it hasn’t come back yet.  I could barely walk for two days and had to lay on the floor to get relief.  So, no gym or exercise of any kind for me since.  It is getting a little better each day but at this rate I won’t be able to exercise this week either.  Man, getting old sucks!

I’m trying to do better mindfully eating but the holidays has a high-carb “mind-field” around every corner.  I’m up 2.6 lbs overall and up 3.4 lbs muscle mass.  My %body water has increased from last week over 2% due to, I suspect, all of the rest and no sweating.

Have a safe & Merry Christmas gentlemen!
