Despite the punter shaking up what ever critters reside in the video board at the Cowboys Stadium, sorry the AT&T Stadium, and having a TD scored on the rekick nice to see that the Cowboys did manage to pull out a win. angry

The WLS marathon continues.  Have managed to increase the treadmill time this week.  Grazing has always been an issue for me.  Not that my snack choices are all that bad, minus the "real" chocolate, tend to do a lot of them.  Cheese sticks, Triscuits, and SF Bullets (Blue Bell brand frozen treats)  Lot of the grazing depends too on how much idle time I have at the house.  Read that as sitting on my duff in front of the TV.  Guess that makes it self evident what I need to do - quit grazing and get off my ass more!

Make this week better than the last.

Howdy Boys,

I continue my slow march to goal. I've been keeping my walking up trying to go 6 times a week. I would love to start

jogging again almost to that point. Bad socks earned me a large blood blister on my heal that may put a damper on my

walking for a few days been icing it since last night . My diet goes as well as can be expected trying new things here and there but still having a hard time with solid proteins like burger and chicken the feeling I get after swallowing them really turns me off to wanting to eat them. Interestingly enough turkey chili does not bother me, so between that and protein shakes I've been getting by for my protein. It's been hotter the blue blazes up here in ND for going on 2 weeks. We will be glad when we start to cool off a bit makes going for walks a lot easier. Okay that's all I have for you guys this week.

Thanks

Shane

Shane,

Could it be that the burger and chicken are too dry?  Still at five years out if either one is too dry it ain't happening.  I  get flashbacks of the two times I've had projectiles from too dry of chicken.

Hey Don,

Yes it could be just too dry. I'm at about the 2.5 month mark from surgery. So maybe I've just been trying things too fast. It's also been suggest that I try putting my cooked meats through the food processor before consuming them and using sauce, oil, or mayo to moisten them. I'll give that a try as well as steaming that usually makes most meats very moist.

Thanks

Shane

Learning to eat post op is a lot of trial and error.  I'm still a big fan of crook pot cooking.  Recipe is simple enough for a man to do! kiss Crook pot, 16-20 oz bottle of Coke Classic, Lipton onion soup mix meat of your choice, (roast, either beef or pork, work best) low heat and about 8-10 hours.

I've never played this game, but I'll try. Here goes:

Highest (known) weight: 555 lbs (Feb 2012)
Pre-op weight: 520 lbs
Last Week: 292 lbs
This Week 288 lbs

Not sure what weight I'm headed for. I currently weigh less than when I graduated high school.

Well, there's my move. If I'm doing it wrong someone will have to let me know.

@Don, yep, idle hands do the devil’s work.

@Shane, after your first month post-op, 3 lbs per week loss is excellent progress!  Keep it up.

@Tom, welcome aboard!  I see your 1st surgiversary was earlier this month.  Excellent progress (and post).

    My stats this week:

           High weight:  392 lbs
Pre-op Weight 4 Aug 09:  377.5 lbs
      1st Surgiversary:  241.0 lbs
      2nd Surgiversary:  212.5 lbs
      3rd Surgiversary:  217.0 lbs
      4th Surgiversary:  214.0 lbs
Last week:  215.2 lbs / 20.5% body fat / 162.8 lbs muscle mass
This week:  214.6 lbs / 20.7% body fat / 161.8 lbs muscle mass

I’m back down 0.6 lbs overall this week but also down 1.0 lbs muscle mass – pretty much status quo.  I made it to the gym on 5 days (3 days cardio & 2 days Physioslow strength) last week and did pretty well mindfully eating during the week.

Beautiful here in middle Georgia today.  Highs in the 80s, lows in the 60s, 50% humidity – WHAT!  I can’t believe this is August.  We’ve only had one day this summer above 94°F though a LOT of rain – 11.3” so far this month!

I’ll be on the road again this coming week.  So, I’ll have to be careful eating and make extra effort to make it to the hotel fitness center.

Be safe & have a great week gentlemen!

-Mike

Way to maintain. Your long term commitment is the kind of example I wish to follow.
