Howdy Men!

I hope today finds you all happy and healthy.

I've come to a fork in the trail and am looking for a member to take over the Sunday Morning duties. I am 16 months out and maintaining well... Life is definitely getting in the way of my routine here and I need to lurk now instead of leading off each week. I have enjoyed my tenure and am lucky to have made friendships here... Thank you all.

I am up a pound this week which I think is part of my usual swing. Diet an exercise has been on par, I am getting used to the fluctuations and ramp up the exercise if I find myself getting out of my comfort zone.

Having been where you are, turning over the reins, I understand life getting in the way.  The Weigh-In will go on so do not be a stranger!

Little FART this week.  Went out to eat at a local Mexican food place.  Sitting 10', or less, from me was one of my old partners from work.  I can't recall the last time I had seen or spoken to this guy but it was long before I had surgery five years ago.  He did not recognize me till I got up and walked over to him!  He commented about me having lost a lot of weight and I fessed up to having WLS five years ago.  Nice time catching up.

This week major test for my new bride and I.  New countertops and appliances are being installed.  That will get one stressor out of my life.  Know something new will come along and take it's place.  That's life. cool

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

LOL!  I can't believe the statement you posted today (Monday) on the women's question about sex after RNY!  I didn't have the guts to comment there because I was afraid I would be barred from the site.  Good point of info though!  LOL!

Just gave her an honest answer!  I used to have a ten point post I used on the Sex Board that answered all the most common questions that appeared there.  "How soon after surgery could you have sex?"  "Does ********* hurt my stomach?" and, I loved this one, "Will anal sex hurt my pouch?"

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

@Brain, don’t be a stranger!  Even if you don’t lead off, posting is a great way to maintain accountability.

@Don, love those looks that come over the face of somebody who hasn’t seen me since WLS.  I wish I could photograph each one!

@Crispy, you’re still making excellent progress!

    My stats this week:

           High weight:  392 lbs
Pre-op Weight 4 Aug 09:  377.5 lbs
Last week:  217.0 lbs / 19.9% body fat / 165.4 lbs muscle mass
This week:  214.6 lbs / 21.6% body fat / 160.0 lbs muscle mass

I’m back down 2.4 lbs overall but down 5.4 lbs muscle mass as well.  I made it to the gym on 4 days last week and ran a 5K on “furlough” Friday.  I’m probably still a little dehydrated and pretty sore from the 5K as my %water was down 2% as well which is probably why my muscle mass is down so much.  I’m sure it will rebound this week.

I did well this past week eating mindfully even though work and home have been stressful.  At home the bath remodel is done – all but writing a check to the contractor.  At work we are in week 3 of 11 weeks of 4 day work weeks.  I’m in federal civil service and due to the magnificent planning of our legislative and executive branches of federal government all DoD civilians will be furloughed one day per week for the rest of the fiscal year.  I’ve been preparing for months so we’re ok financially and the time off albeit without pay is nice to get some home projects done, but the work that is needed to support our men and women in uniform around the world does not get furloughed.

Be safe & have a great week gentlemen!

-Mike

Well, up a couple lbs this week. Still happy that I am in Onderland. Not happy at the uptick as did not do so great overall with eating or exercise this week. Man, I thought the Summer would be easy to maintain even lose. However, there ALWAYS seems to be food around and sometimes I am able to abstain, other times I am not.  All part of the journey I guess...and knowing I started at 350 and am under 200 is still AMAZING to me!!!

In terms of water and vitamins sticking to the program, so I am proud of that!

Only able to exercise 2 times this week. Would love to do more but to say the least my plate is full right now with lot of things in my life. However, exercising 2 times is better than none!!

Have a great week All!

Yours in WLS Journey,

Bill Mac

Hey Brian, hoping you will still be around and checking in!!!

I almost never check in until Monday mornings when I get to the office, so if "nothing else" or if no one else has posted yet for the week I will create threads at that time!  ("Sunday/Monday check in....)

355 at the start, RNY Surgery 9/21/11

Weight ranged this week from 193-198, I was 196 yesterday!!  Mine goes up and down quite a bit with my running and water retention.
