Sunday Morning Weigh-In, The Heat Is On Edition
355 8/1/11 Start of Program
321 9/21/11 RNY Surgery Day
Last week, I was at approx 193-195ish and I restarted my Paleo diet (Whole30 challenge) this time adding dairy and sugar free sweetners as desired. Basically, I get my Starbucks dang it!!
This weekend... I repeated my first ever race, the USMC Mud Run here locally! 5k, up/down hills, through the woods, mud holes, creeks, ice pits, up a rope climb, over walls, through pipes and finally a huge mud hole/POND to finish.
Last year, I weighed 235ish at the mud run, buddy of mine hurt his heel so lots of breaks/walking and we finished in 1:15. I did not succeed on the rope climb up the hill, and had help over the walls.
This year.. we finished in 55 minutes, I went up the rope climb like there was nothing to it, over the first wall like a champ, and the second wall still got me, had to take the step up. (So I still have a goal for next years race!) My weight was 190 pounds this year. (Pic of the runners before / after in my Photos. The two ladies are also RNY patients in our program!)
That was Saturday, Sunday I hit the gym to do my CrossFit WOD, and when I got home, I had a NEW personal record, 189.8 pounds!!
Wife is just over 2 weeks out to her RNY surgery on 6/19, full steam ahead!

First off, really enjoyed seeing so many posts. This board had been a little slow lately, so glad to hear from so old and new members!! I have to say, all of your posts make me reflect on my own journey and contemplate how to be succesful going forward and for that I am VERY THANKFUL!!
So, the roller coaster continues. Clearly, maintenance is definitely a journey, not a destination!!! I was up to 199 last week, but after commiting to the basics of 64 oz of water, Food Journaling, and consistent exercise down to 196. Still, as has been mentioned here today I realize there is always going to be a fluctuation. My primary goal is to stay at or below 196 which is significant for me as it stood for a 150 pound total weight loss!!
One key for me is I was able to get back to running. It has not been easy, but I like the results!!
Have a great week!!
Yours in WLS Journey,
Bill Mac

I picked up a different mountain bike frame and spent some time swapping components over and buying new ones. Then new bike is amazing and fits me very well. I put about 20mi on it to dial it in and compared my times...all of them are faster, must be that new bike smell. :) My buddy and I went on a 15mi ride Saturday and had the place to our selves...good times.
