Mornin' Gents,

My Stats:

High weight: 296

Weight at initial consult 1-19-2012: 269

Weight at surgery 4-23-12: 230

Last week: 182

This week: 181

Total weight lost: 88

Body Fat 18%

Down a pound this week! First loss in awhile, had been creeping up a few pounds since I entered maintenance. Made it to the gym twice this past week and tried to be really diligent with my eating.

Visited my wife's father's grave yesterday, he passed before I met her. Planted flowers and cleaned the place up a bit. Had lunch out (Turkey sandwich for me, hold the fries!), Nice day all in all even though it is rainy here.

A moment of remembrance for all who have served, I am so fortunate to live in the USA and am so thankful for those who have and still do defend our great nation.

Till next week,

Brian

Between work, wedding drama, and dance lessons, y'all read that right I typed DANCE LESSONS, not much treadmilling this week but losing some poundage all the same.  Go figure.  Told the dance instructor lady it might be like teaching a bull to walk through a china shop.  She is good!  So far Jan's toes are not broken.  Don't take away my "man card" for saying this but talk about a cardio workout and what it is doing to my glutes!  Still way to uncoordinated to try Zumba.  If I ever do try Zumba - I'll surrender my "man card"!

Dittos to what you said about remembering the true meaning of Memorial Day.  Having been to the POW museum in Andersonville, GA and having seen a National Cemetery or two - Freedom IS NOT FREE!  Not meaning to start a political debate here but I worry how much longer we will be free given the current world and political climates.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

Nothing un-manly about dancing, but I was forever forbidden from any future dancing by my wife after performing the "Macarena" at the club the night of our wedding!  :)

Good clean cardio, but when you start adding bling to your outfit and feathers, you know you have gone too far.  (Unless you are going full ELVIS then it is ok.)

Morning Guys,

I concur, a very big thank you to all that have served us and this country. And to those who lost their life fighting for us. I am proud of my son-in-law who is still trying to find the remains of MIA's from the Vietnam war in Laos and happy to know our country is still looking for them.

My weight is down 1 lbs this week but staying right in the neighborhood. I am so focused on not gaining weight I am back to weighing myself every morning.

Pray for our military and pray for our country...

After months of self reflection and support meetings, I feel like I am back on track. I gained about 30% back after my initial loss, now working the tool to see what I can do with it. Still would do this all again Best wishes to everyone!

Cheers

This Memorial Day I am especially thankful for all those who have given the “last full measure of devotion” to our great country on both foreign soil and in the homeland.  We are the land of the FREE because of the BRAVE!

@Brian, glad you’re back on track.  Keep it up!

@Don, Andersonville like all of our National cemeteries both domestic and abroad are awe inspiring resting places for heroes signifying the sacrifice that true patriots are willing to make to ensure the American dream continues.

@Daniel, absolutely pray for our leaders as well.  God does not know democrat or republican but only knows the hearts and discernment of the men and women of government who lead our country.

@Chrispy, congrats on being back on track!  We all know what we should do, we just have figure out how to be successful in doing it.  We are fighting a war against obesity with each day being a battle, with each effort being a campaign.  Sometimes we waver and lose that day’s battle.  But a war is not won or lost on the merits of one battle.  WLS gives us the “high ground” advantage to be successful in the long war if we use it.

    My stats this week:

           High weight:  392 lbs
Pre-op Weight 4-Aug-09:  377.5 lbs
Last week:  220.8 lbs / 19.3% body fat / 169.4 lbs muscle mass
This week:  219.2 lbs / 20.0% body fat / 166.6 lbs muscle mass

My overall weight is back down 1.6 lbs this week with muscle mass down 2.8 lbs.  I really haven’t determined what is going on with my body yet.  My weight and muscle mass seem to be see-sawing +/-5 lbs.  This past week work was a bear getting back from a business trip and I only made it to the gym on 3 days though I was better at eating.

Be safe & have a great week gentlemen!

-Mike

Hi everyone,

Thank you to all who have served and especially those who have given the ultimate sacrifice.

I had my one year post op appointment this week. All my labs looked good with the exception of my magnesium being a little low. the surgeon was quite pleased. So am I !!! This surgery is such a life changer.

I have uploaded some new photo's to my profile. I have a mac and can't seem to copy pictures into this tread. Just click on my profile to view them.

Take care and have a safe Memorial Day
