Morning Men,

Hoping this message finds everyone happy and healthy!

I am down 1 which is the trend I hope to continue. Better food choices were the key, that and a day of not eating for the exam!

Exam went fine, the prep was not too bad and the sedation made the process nothing but a short nap. One small polyp removed but nothing remarkable, see you in 5 years!

Best to all for the coming week,

Brian

331.0:  All time high 3/10/08
321.0:  Surgery day 4/7/08
184.0:  GOAL!! 1/13/09
173.0:  1 yr Surgiversary 4/7/09 and at 18 months
171.5:  2 yr Surgiversary (Dr. scales)
175.5:  3 rd Surgiversary (his scales in shorts and t-shirt)
170.2:  4 th Surgiversary

173.2:  5 th Surgiversary (Official)

171.6:  This week.

Pointed the right direction!  Hoping a couple more vigorous sessions on the treadmill, some more piddling around the house outside, eating right and keeping the "crack in a sack" in the pantry I'll be at the 170 mark at my five year follow up Wednesday.  If I am - I am.  If not - it is what it is.

Brian, congrats on your test coming out in your favor.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

@Brian, awesome news on the test front and keep up the good work!

@Don, you are definitely a 5 year success story regardless of the number on the scale this Wednesday.

    My stats this week:

           High weight:  392 lbs
Pre-op Weight 4-Aug-09:  377.5 lbs
Last week:  218.6 lbs / 19.3% body fat / 167.8 lbs muscle mass
This week:  218.8 lbs / 19.5% body fat / 167.6 lbs muscle mass

My overall weight and muscle mass this week is pretty much status quo.  I was out of town on a business trip this past week and only made it to the gym on 3 days.  I wasn’t as good eating either – more fat and carbs (& kcals) than normal but at least snacking was minimal.

Well another year of the Masters Tournament has come and gone – this time the first Australian has won it, Adam Scott.  He was able to accomplish what the great Australian golfer The Shark, Greg Norman, never did.  Also, it is hard to believe that a 14 year old kid, Tianlang Guan, qualified and performed so well.  I only live 3 hours away from Augusta and have never been in person, but it is on my post-WLS bucket list.

Be safe & have a great week gentlemen!

-Mike

Good Day,

The Numbers:
346: All time high 7/1/10 - BMI = 52
326: Tufts Medical Center, Surgery 12/27/10 BMI=49
193: Weigh In 4/7/13
193: This Week 4/14/13 -->0 pounds gain BMI=29
153:Total Weight Loss

Pretty happy at no gain/loss. Maintenance phase is growing on me. Unless I make drastic lifestyle changes, good or bad mind you, I am very happy staying South of 196 which marks a 150 pound loss for me and where I feel healthy.

In terms of exercise, it  is going well. I was able to get out and run 5 days. This upcoming week going to try to begin doing some body conditioning at the Y. Not like Muscle Beach stuff, just some toning overall.

I also have been going to some local support groups, which have helped me to keep me focused on staying on the WLS Journey Path...

I continue to try to seek a balance between a mindful diet and consistent exercise. A goal I will continue to work on going forward!!

Yours in WLS Journey,

Bill Mac

355 8/1/11, 321 RNY surgery day of 9/21/11 and 200ish since July 2012 (9 months post op)

202.8 this morning!

This time next week, will be going for the Whole 30 challenge!!  Biggest adjustment for me, will be cutting out ALL sweets, including "sugar free" items, so water to drink and no more durn cookies.

Second biggest adjustment will be NO dairy products so Lattes will be out as well and no cheese.

It will be interesting to see the effect of going "Whole Food" (Paleo) and I am hoping it will kick start some weight loss and help me lop off a bit of the remaining fat.  (Scale showing 25-26% body fat % still)

Cross Training 3 days a week and keeping active the remaining days.  Hiked 6 miles with my Border Collie on Saturday, she loved that and we scared up 4-5 deer, she was READY to chase em down but the leash said NO!!

This mornings CF workout:

Find personal max on Deadlift, mine turned out to be 235 lbs.

Then 20 minutes of:

5 pull ups, 10 push ups, 15 squats.  I managed to get in 9 full rounds, so 45 pull ups (with bands for assist), 90 push ups and 135 squats.
