Top of the morning to ya! (in best Irish accent)

Scales were friendlier this morning.  Got to doing some yard work yesterday trimming up the bushes/trees that the lower branches hindered mowing under them on the riding mower.  Got a wild hair to put some dirt in a hole where a dead tree stump had finally rotted out.  Instead of going and getting the tractor with front end loader I opted to shovel it into the Mule and haul it that way since I did not need that much.  Should have gone and gotten the tractor!  Woke up this morning feeling like I woke up on the wrong end of an ass whopping!

Try and get the mowing done today - at least closest to the house inside the fence.  Will have to get some survey flags to mark out my bluebonnets in the big front so I don't mow them down.  Tossed the seeds out last year to no avail but this year we have bluebonnets!  Not full a coverage but a few clumps.  It's a start.  They are the Texas state flower.   Like the poppies in CA people stop and take pictures of them along the highways.

Have a Great Week gents!!

Noonday Gents!  On this St. Paddy’s Day I wish you all sentiments expressed by this old Irish blessing:

An Old Irish Blessing

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

@Brain, happy vacay on this St. Paddy’s Day.

@Don, may yur field of Bluebonnets only multiply to a carpet of blue.

    My stats this week:

           High weight:  392 lbs
Pre-op Weight 4-Aug-09:  377.5 lbs
Last week:  217.8 lbs / 19.8% body fat / 166.0 lbs muscle mass
This week:  215.0 lbs / 20.2% body fat / 163.2 lbs muscle mass

My overall weight this week is down 2.8 lbs but so is muscle mass down 2.8 lbs.  I made it to the gym 5 days this past week for a full 60 minutes of cardio each day.  I upped my intensity burning 1100-1200 kcal during each workout.  Partially depleting my glycogen stores may account for the downward trend in muscle mass.  We’ll see how I recover this next week.

Spring equinox is this Wednesday.  So we can look forward to more daylight each day until next fall.

Be safe & have a great week gentlemen!

-Mike

AT GOAL...Way back, a little over 2 years ago,  when I started on this journey, I had a goal to get under 200, however my MAJOR  goal was to get to 10 pounds under at 190. Over the last year or so, I had been happy to be under 200, but kept working at it and today I finally reached it! I just want say to all of the contributors and lurkers on this forum,  Thanks for all your support in this journey, as I have been able to stay accountable by posting here weekly. Your experience, strength and hope have helped me tremendously.  Now comes more of a challege...MAINTENANCE!!!

A big part of my accomplishment has been exercise. I have ran several 5K's and a couple of 10K's. But today I did my first 1/2 Marathon.  Here are my official results

Your Time - 2:04:31 Your Chip Time - 02:02:24

Overall Place - 1928 Division Place - 360 Sex Place - 1198 Your pace per mile - 9:31

I wanted to post this specifically not to brag, but to show that when we make our minds up, anything is possible.

Have a great week guys!!!!

Bill Mac

DUDE, I can tell the training for the marathon has really shaved off the pounds over the last couple of months!!

Congrats on the pace per mile too, 6+ mph for 2 hours is fantastic!!

355  8/1/11   to 321 on 9/21/11 RNY Surgery Day

So LAST week, the Durn scale said 208.x on Sunday morning which ticked me off...and I started the Paleo plan.  Lot of Cross Fit folks use it and the system of 100% Paleo, 80% of the time makes sense to me.  Allowed me to have a bit of what I wanted but MOST of the time I was on plan.

Last Monday scale was 203.x, it was up/down most of the week, but trending lower until this morning I was back down to 200!!

Hoping I will be back in Century City this week, it has been a couple of months now since I dipped down in there and came back over the 200 mark.

Loving CrossFit, this morning's WOD was Airdyne / Bench Press.  30 Calories, 30 Reps, 20 calories, 20 reps, 10 calories, 10 reps and finally 5 calories, 5 reps.

I completed it in 22:xx, starting with 75 pounds for the 30 reps, and the rest at 65 pounds.  Getting stronger, my first bench press WOD a few weeks ago I was toast at 65 and dropped to 45 by the end of the series.
