Morning Gents,
I hope today finds everyone happy and healthy! Thought I'd throw a bone to the football fans by naming today's weigh-in after the Superbowl! In a former life I played a fair amount but I am just a casual observer now. I did think for sure that our Pats were headed there yet again but it goes to show you that just when you think it's all locked up...
I've rebounded a few pounds this week... Started a new position at work and putting in the extra effort there meant no gym this last week. My eating has been on track with only a couple transgressions so it goes to show how important the regular exercise is. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of Spring... can not come soon enough to suit me!
Till the next one,
Brian

I'll blame the uptick on not having had my morning nasty stinky yet. That or snacking on too much "crack in a sack".
I am happy to report that all the Christmas lights are off the fence and house and are in the store room for another nine or ten months. Will need to make a trail soon to get the lawn mower, string trimmer etc but going to put that off as long as I can!
All right gents, work your programs, mind your "P"'s and "Q"'s, hug your loved ones and have a Great Week!!
Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!
Good Afternoon,
The Numbers:
346: All time high 7/1/10 - BMI = 52
326: Tufts Medical Center, Surgery 12/27/10 BMI=49
198: Weigh In 1/27/13
201: This Week 2/1/13 -->Up 3 lb BMI=29
148: Total Weight Loss
Not too happy about the numbers this week. I Have been eating better and exercising more consistently. For example, been maintaining 1800 calories, 80 g protein and trying to get at least 64 oz water daily. Still, as I reviewed my weight status for the last 6 months, my OVERALL goal is to stay within 5 pounds of 200 and I am in that range today so will be content with it.
Exercise is good. I am going into my 4th week training for a race in March. The distance is a Half Marathon and the more I train, the more confident I am about being able to complete it.
Thanks for all the great posts, I love reading them and sharing this journey with a great bunch of guys!
Have a good week guys....

Howdy! Things are good. Walking/some light jogging had been going really well until Thursday when I slipped on ice patch, did the splits and tore my hamstring... I guess that'll slow me down for a couple weeks. Back to work on Monday...
Looking forward to football later today!
Take care,
Mark

Holding steady this week. Brian- definitely looking forward to an early spring. I am attempting to put together the home gym that has been disassembled in my basement for the last couple of years. I have an elliptical trainer ready to go. Not the same as a treadmill, but close and good enough for now, 'until the weather and road conditions and daylight are conducive to hitting the pavement . I'm still dealing with some insomnia, sometimes it happens, and sometimes it doesn't. I searched this subject on the main forum, and apparently it is a common occurrence after surgery. Sure wish I knew why.

What a great week! I didn't exercise much this week with my work schedule being so busy. I will be back on it this week and will continue my journey back down to where I once was.
Happy Super Bowl Sunday to everybody! My team didn't make t, but I'll go ahead and call the 49ers.

@Brian, well Punxsutawney Phil didn’t see his shadow yesterday so it looks like an early spring in the north, but General Beauregard Lee did see his shadow so 6 more weeks of winter here in the south. We’ll see...
@Don, I hope the lawn mower stays in the shed at least until tax day.
@Bill Mac, I bet your plus up is muscle. You’re working the program & training for a marathon definitely will increase your muscle mass.
@Mark, pulling your hamstring will definitely slow you down. Be sure and stretch even before a walk. You don’t want to damage it further.
@Tim, my experience was that I had some insomnia the first 18 months but haven’t had any since. My PCP told me that with the dramatic weight loss during the first 18 months and the impact to hormones was probably the cause of my insomnia. Hopefully, yours will resolve soon as well.
@Trent, you’re making great progress. Keep working the program.
I made it to the hotel gym 2 times this week while on a business trip to Ohio. I didn’t make very good food choices on a couple of days but still going in the right direction with the muscle mass. Hopefully, I can make it to the gym or bike trails every day this week. Getting back in my routine should help with my food choices as well.
Have a great week gentlemen!
-Mike

202ish, I forgot to weigh this morning but I think I weighed in on Friday at 202, so I am still bouncing from 199-202, so in my "normal" zone.
Did not exercise at ALL last week, January is really tough at the CPA firm, we are getting out 1099s and W2s and the last week of January is especially bad. So I got up and skipped the gym and went directly to work.
Ate like crap last week too... so now it is February, goal is 3-4 days at the gym this week....starting tomorrow! Up late watching Superbowl!
I am doing "mini" exercises all the time though! We have rails in our bathroom here for handicap access, solidly mounted into the walls, etc. I try to do 10 incline pushups when I use the RR, and 10 dips. Keeps me sorta in the zone at least!
Thinking about getting one of those big exercise balls that you sit on at your desk to see if I can actually feel anything in my abs from that.
