Hey Bill, I know you can do the half marathon.  You and these other "super jocks" here on the forum have accomplished amazing feats after your weight losses.  You guys are definitely inspirations for all the newbies.  My exercise program is no where near what you do.  I'm looking at 68 in a few weeks and running again is just not physically possible.  I did have a personal "FART" yesterday.  I walked on the treadmill at 3 mph for 1 and half miles, with no stopping and no oxygen.  Haven't done that in probably 20 or 25 years.  In fact I haven't used any oxygen in over a month.

Weight wise I'm right there with you.  This morning I was 200.8.  That puts me down 140.2 from surgeons high weight of 341 on May 1.  Can't wait to break that 200 barrier.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for the kind words. I ran 4 miles today in my training program. Going good so far!

Glad to hear of your FART...Must be great to be getting off of the O2 and be able to walk on the treadmill!! Keep up the good work my friend.

Great numbers on the weight as well...

If times were different, I'd start getting discouraged.  But instead, I'm confident.  I know the hard work I'm putting in.  I know the sacrifices I am making at the dinner table.  It'll happen for me, sooner or later.  I just need to ramp up the exercise.  Have a good week, all!

Hey Brock,

Keep up the confidence my friend. This is a JOURNEY , not a destination...We all experiences the highs and lows but we have to keep working at it a day at a time!

Brock, I am just getting back into the swing of things. If we could have a weight loss surgery and then get to our goal and quit, then it wouldn't be as crazy of a ride. If you're doing what you should be doing, then you're going to have your day where you are going to get on that scale and see some serious movement. It is obvious you are doing something right, because the numbers aren't going up.

I am glad you aren't getting discouraged. I am a prisoner to the scale and every pound just about drives me crazy. Keep working it!

Highest = 370 (6/2011)

At time of 6mo monitoring = 358 (9/2011)

Day of surgery = 328.8 (4/2012)

Current = 240(bouncing between 238 and 242)

It has been very cold with highs in the teens and snow past few weeks so outside activities are limited...biking is out right now.  I have been ramping my Jits up and we are doing a crossfit like workout three days a week before class with the competition team. It is one hell of a workout and after 30min of that and 2hr of rolling I am spent.  I made it half way up the rope climb which was the first time in...well...forever.

My goal when starting this journey was 230lb but I have revised that to 220lb because I would like to compete in the Super Heavy division and that is 222lb with a gi on.

Andrew,

Wow!  With that kind of regimen be sure to get in extra water and protein.  Rule of thumb is protein (g) = 1.5 (for very active) x muscle mass (kg).  So, if you have 160 lbs (72.5 kg) muscle mass, you should be getting 109 g protein.  If you are sweating the entire 2.5 hours, you could easily need an extra 128 oz (1 gal) of water in addition to your baseline 64 oz.

Good luck!

231 September 21, 2011, RNY Surgery Day

I have been hovering from 197-202 for the last few months now.  199 this morning, 201 last week.

BMI is 29.x, Visceral Fat is 13, and the Body Fat % on my scale usually shows 26%, though it gave me 22% this morning!?  I will start tracking this daily to see if I can get an accurate or average measurement.

Being a little more careful about my snacking...I still need to start logging but with Tax season, I don't have much motivation for MORE paperwork at the moment.

Sam
