Hi Gents!

My Stats:

High weight: 296
Weight at initial consult 1-19-2012: 269
Weight at surgery 4-23-12: 230
Last week: 173

'Morning All,

Maintaining within a pound of my all time low... Only made the gym once this past week due to lazyness! Food choices good for the most part. Keeping it short as I am buried in at-home projects today, must remember to put away the tree!

See you next week!

Brian

Up two pounds this week and I'll take it considering the week I've had!

Condensed version:

Spent three days/two nights in ICU.   Went to work feeling little off Wednesday but I was getting lighted headed/dizzy more often by mid-morning.  Had Chief carry me to ER since did not want to risk wrecking out.  Sure as **** stinks I was a-fibbing (atrial fibrillation) again.  Been to this rodeo a few times in twenty years so knew what to anticipate.  ICU, IV, start the meds to regulate heart rate.  Slowed it down but did not cardiovert during Wednesday or that evening.  See cardio Thursday morning.  Plan was if it did not cardiovert on it's own by Friday morning I would be riding the "Chinese lightening" again.  Guess my heart got to thinking "BS, not that **** again!" and cardioverted on it's own about Noon on Thursday.  Another night in ICU and back home Friday about lunch time with scripts for a new beta blocker and a blood thinner to take for a month or so.  Still going to see the electrophisiogist in about a month to see what he recommends but digits crossed this takes care of it.

What put me out of rhythm?  My little bout of illness/flu last weekend and taking the antihistamines had me dehydrated like the Mojave!  They put nearly five liters of fluid in me while I was in the hospital.  Worst part was that to more accurately track the fluid numbers - it was hello to Mr. Foley.  Was having a hard time peeing to begin with but by the time the MILF'y looking nurse got it out Friday morning I was back to holding my own without any problems!

Can I get a Mulligan for 2013?

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

EEEYowch Don,

Sorry to hear of your troubles... glad to hear you are still with us! The mental picture of "The Chief" carrying you to the ER had me smiling...

Hang in there!

The "carrying" he did we used his Tahoe.  I managed to hoof it into the ER waiting area.  Nearly fell out from getting dizzy from BP dropping but got inside under my own steam.  Had enough sense to shed my duty rig and vest before going over there.

I still have not broken down much of Xmas crap at all but more importantly my new "toy" is still in the box.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

    My stats this week:

           High weight:  392 lbs
Pre-op Weight 4 Aug 09:  377.5 lbs
Last week:  222.2 lbs / 20.9% body fat / 167.0 lbs muscle mass
This week:  216.6 lbs / 20.4% body fat / 163.8 lbs muscle mass

@Brian, don’t know what your height is but you’ve got to be close to your goal weight – 14% body fat is awesome!

@Trent, excellent progress – keep it up!

@Don, WOW what a week!  Glad to hear you’re doing better.  Sounds like you have to be very careful to make sure you don’t dehydrate and your electrolytes get out of whack.

I’m finally back in my regular routine.  I made it to the gym four times this week and the bike trails once.  We’ve been having beautiful weather here in Middle Georgia – highs in the 70s, lows in the 50s.  I’m down 5.6 lbs this week though about 3.2 lbs is lost muscle mass.  My body water is up 0.4% so I’m confident the balance of 2.4 lbs was fat.  We’ll see how the muscle mass rebounds this week.

A lot of new faces in the gym on Monday with most that didn’t make it to Friday.  Human behavior is so predictable.  We’ll see how many return tomorrow.

@Tim, looks like your Pats will face the Ravens for the AFC.  My Dirty Birds will face 49ers for the NFC.  Could it be an ATL-NE SB??

Have a great week gentlemen!

Good Morning,

The Numbers:
346: All time high 7/1/10 - BMI = 52
326: Tufts Medical Center, Surgery 12/27/10 BMI=49
202: Weigh In 1/6/13
201: This Week 1/13/13 -->Down 1 lb BMI=29
145: Total Weight Loss

Holding pattern but down a pound which I will take. Maintaining 1800 calories, 80 g protein and trying to get at least 64 oz water daily.

Exercise is good. Began training for a race in March. The distance is a Half Marathon!!! I am scared to death to do it, but with a good training regimen I know I can!

@Don-Feel better friend!

Have a good week guys....

Yours in WLS,

Bill Mac

Bill Mac,

Awesome progress!  You've got the plan to be successful.  I"m not confident to try a half marathon.  Done a few 5Ks, but the knees just can't stand much more.  Keep us updated with your training progress.
