Hi Gents!
My Stats:
High weight: 296
Weight at initial consult 1-19-2012: 269
Weight at surgery 4-23-12: 230
Last week: 179
This week: 174

Body Fat 14%
Hope today finds everyone happy and healthy! 133 views of last weeks weigh-in... only 11 replies! Hopefully all those views are not nosy chicks and with a little coaxing the rest of the MEN visiting our little forum will check in. I had a fantastic week: I had regained 4 lbs from my all time low weight of 175, had a loss of 5 lbs this week to a new all time low weight. Here is my secret: Don't eat garbage, exercise, log your food! LOL, simple right? I am finding that I HAVE TO log my food, I use My Fitness Pal on my phone and everything that goes in my mouth gets tracked. Without logging my food I cheat and the calories fly into my mouth!
I am wishing everyone here peace and happiness no matter how you celebrate this season. Be strong and be mindful of your long term goals! Give yourself the gift of a fantastic new (or continuing) life in 2013!
As always, Brian
Hug your kids every day, let them know they are loved, keep them safe the best you can.

Brian “Hug your kids every day, let them know they are loved, keep them safe the best you can.” - your poignant quote on your signature ticker really hit home for me on Friday when I heard the news of Newtown, Connecticut. This slaughter of innocents is such a senseless loss. I like everyone else struggle for understanding and healing. May God grant us all peace that passes all human understanding.
My stats this week:
High weight: 392 lbs
Pre-op Weight 4 Aug 09: 377.5 lbs
Last week: 216.2 lbs / 19.3% body fat / 166.0 lbs muscle mass
This week: 220.0 lbs / 19.9% body fat / 167.6 lbs muscle mass
Oh, the mind games this journey inflicts on us! Looking strictly at body weight, I was alarmed this morning as my scale topped off at 220.0 lbs compared to my all time low on Oct 28th of 210.7 lbs. However, when I compared my muscle mass, on Oct 28th it registered 158.6 lbs while this morning it was 167.6 lbs. Likewise, my body fat on Oct 28th measured 20.7% versus 19.9% this morning.
If I didn’t have this additional info on muscle mass and body fat, I would be FREAKING OUT. I’m still concerned because I know I didn’t eat well this past week trying to dodge all of the holiday smorgasbord minefields. I work in an office with way too many good cooks.
On the workout front I went to the gym for 60 full minutes of cardio on 4 days and to the off-road trails for 12.5 miles of biking on 1 day. I’m still not able to do any strength training due to the tendonitis (tennis elbow).
Gentlemen, stay strong, mentally tough, & physically safe!
-Mike

Hi Mike,
Yes, that is in my sig because although my child is alive I have lost her to drug abuse and mental health issues... I can not imagine the pain the CT parents are going through. I am filled with despair over what this nation and it's people have become. Hopefully 2013 will be a better year.
