6 years out today...

First the truth...

Here are some thoughts from over the years...First, BOY have I gotten old.  One thing about this WLS thing is you still age!!  Trying to "not go softly into that good night"...But it is what it is!!
I've gained about 40 pounds over the years, since hitting my lowest at about 6 months out.  You can go on my profile to see the pictures.  I've taken one every year on or near the date of my surgery.  Nothing new this year.  I still ride my bike a lot.  I rode it to the flea market today.  Then to the coffee shop and post office...Rode and paid the gas bill (saved 45 cents!!).  I eat good almost every day.  But most days I find my downfalls in tortilla chips, chocolate, and ice cream.  The exercise makes up for some of the bad stuff.  I'm still a security guard.  It is a mixed blessing.  Many sites I'm required to walk for miles on end.  Other sites I sit and twiddle my thumbs (eat junk).  Before my surgery I had (have) congestive heart failure.  My heart was pumping at 35% (injection/fraction rate).  Today it is at 59 to 60%...Normal for my age group.  I still have heart desease...I could die at anytime.  God has given me a gift of extra life and I'm trying to grab the bull by the horns.  Life still is good.  Thanks for reading my update.  Brian

Brian,

You have been one hell of a great source of information and inspiration over the years.  Sorry about the getting old thing.  We can reverse the scales but not the march of time!

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

Congrats on your success.  Hope I`m still managing as succeessfully at 6 years.
I too looked older once I lost my weight.. Lost my bloated ``baby face`` along with all
the weight and aquired a lot of wrinkles.. small price to pay for health and mobility.

Brian you are an inspiration to all of us "rookies".  I've really appreciated the advice you have given me over the past 6 months.  I only hope I can manage to get 6 more years.

Jim
