Sunday Morning Weigh In Fall is Fantastic Edition
The angel and devil are jumping on my shoulders every day- it's so easy to go back down that old familiar road - but I am determined to get off the roller coaster ride for the rest of my life- whatever it takes- one day at a time- one meal at a time- one run at a time- for as long as it takes- I'm in it for the long haul- and nothing is gonna stop me! lather, rinse and repeat!!

Hey Bill,
It sounds like you know what to do, so I'm not going to repeat it. However, 150lb. weight loss is AMAZING I see that you are a runner and doing well at it. I also became a runner after my weight loss and I love it. Running is a great way for me to release stress. Your time on your last 5K is great. Good luck with your 10K in October. I'm also running a race at the end of October, the Rock & Roll 1/2 marathon in L.A. 9 months ago I could not run around my block and now I'm talking about running a 1/2 marathon. CRAZY I tell ya.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the response. Your right on target with yours post, I am VERY happy to have lost 150 pounds. It has changed me both physically and mentally. However, the mental can be more difficult than the physical sometimes, but is all part of the journey.
Good Luck in training and running in the 1/2 Marathon!!! Keep me posted on how you fare...
Yours in WLS,
Bill

Great to see all the good news from you guys this week. A slight downtick for me this week, and that is always welcome.
Weather is changing here in Houston. We've actually had a few days that were not unbearably hot and humid. It's been nice to be outside a bit, but as Houstonians know, we don't have a fall season so we're trying not to get too used to the nice weather.
Have a great week, guys.

197.x lowest about 2 weeks ago or so, was up as high as 207 the week before last and then on vacation last week. I know I did not gain 7 pounds of "fat" jus****er shifting around and such.
This morning was 204.x, back to my home gym now and got in my strength training today, cardio tomorrow... 5k on Friday!!
Going to do low carbs (good protein) here and see if I cannot chase down into the 180s somewhere and stay on the right side of 200!!
Lots of bad choices in snacking last week sitting around the camper, but did actually go running 2.6 miles one day at the campground, and on Saturday I must have done the 30 steps (2-3 stories) on the waterslide 20-30 times? So that is what, 60-80 floors of stair climbing!! :)
I go tomorrow night to speak at the semniar where folks are considering weight loss surgery, should be a good experience and I hope I inspire someone to take the plunge!

Chocking this post up to better late than never... Believe it or not I started typing this on Sunday morning!!
Anyway, I had a great week of training. I am training to run my second 5K on October 28th and am taking a bit of a different approach to this one as I am attempting to do the 10K training program (C210K). I have finished week 7 without a problem (this is also week 7 of the C25K). The C210K just adds addiditonal miles on to that program and continues on to a 10K distance by week 14. Anyway, the training is going well and by the end of the week I was back up to 2.8 miles again. Doing well since I had taken the summer off from running. I realized another thing that I really enjoy the running and it totally gives me a good type of sore feeling. Where you actually feel like you have muscles and are in tune with your body. I'd love to see that scale start to move down again as I know that I have at least another 25 pounds or so in me to lose. We'll see what the weight Gods have in store for me over the next month and a half as I continue training.
My poor little Wildcats softball team had their first loss this past week which puts them at 3-1 and a half game out of first place. All three of my pitchers just couldn't seem to find the strike zone and its hard to win a game when you walk most of the batters you face. Oh well, chalk it up to experience and you can't win them all. Hitting wise, the girls are really swinging the bat and my daughter cracked two doubles off of one of the best travel team pitchers for this age bracket. She is a machine!! Anyway, good time to go back to the basics, work on skills and try and develop my younger pitchers for the Spring season and get them some more live batter experience.
Anyway, hope everyone has a great week.
Mike
