What are some of the quirkly (strange) routines you do post op??
Oh I have a couple more really out there ones.
I consider a long race anything beyond a 5K.
When I have a long race I stop eating at 6pm the night before I will have 1 or 2 protein shakes before I go to bed but solid food is off limits. Dinner the night before a race is always a baked potato with onions, mushrooms, cheese, bacon and Sour Cream.
at 9 pm the night before a long race I take 2 Immodium AD to shut the pooper down I then take one the next morning. Through all my training I have only had to drop the bomb once during a run and ended up running an additional 3.5 miles because of this. I have been on a bike for as long as 3.5 hours with no urge but race day nerves get to me so even a race that is 60-70 minutes I'll do this.
I wake up 90 minutes prior to the time I will leave my house to go through race day ritual. Breakfast is always a Protein Shake with 2 frozen Bananas drank on the way. Prior to race I take a GU Gel Espresso Lovers with x2 caffiene, if I need to take in calories during the race it has to be Chocolate Mint. These are the only to flavors that work I have trained with others but when running it is only these.
I always get to a race at least 60 minutes early, more often than not it is more like 90 minutes.
After the race I will down 3 bottles of water and 2 bananas, sometimes other stuff but always these 2 items.

Over 6 years out and still drinking protein shakes...now with cocoa powder in the morning and eating pureed chicken salad with lots of pureed colorful vegetables. Here's and old pic before I got too morbidly obese. I was fit and fat. Ran to the top of the mountain here.
The inserted pic went crazy, so here's the link:
