Thanks for all the comments. From Don and Roger who had to pay for their own RNY to John in Canada, who waited forever and the rest of us who were fortunate enough to have good insurance, we all were lucky to have a good journey. Looking back to 4 months ago, I wonder what I would pay to lose 80.5 lbs? A million? I think I would if I had it.
Stoney hit the nail on the head when he talked about the insurance companies approving it because they hope it will save them money in the long run. I wonder if I would be able to have an RNY under our new health care law? The surgery wasn't really done for me or us, but rather as a hedge against future costs. Doesn't give you a warm feeling?
