That's cool.  I did like the 1/10th mile markers.  Amazing how many folks were running/biking on that trail and it was mid-week.  Good stuff!!

Well, better late than never-
Back from sunny FLA on Friday night and still settling in. Had company for breakfast and made a fresh lobster frittatta with scallions, ****take mushrooms and boursin cheese. Yum!

I was expecting a gain from eating like royalty in Key West, but I also logged in ten miles touring the neighborhood in my running shoes. Nothin' but bars, restaurants and cigar shops on every block- pretty much a party in the street. Hot as a mother, as expected, but we got a sunset cruise w/ champagne and cheese in and a "snuba" excursion- a cross between scuba and snorkeling on a coral reef. My credit card is on fire!

I logged my longest run to date in DelRay Beach- 9.5 miles- took an hour and a half and 93 degrees at 8:00 in the morning. Damn near killed me- I have registered for a half-marathon on Sept 30th. If I can maintain that kind of distance on a regular basis I should be OK.

We are hosting our annual family reunion this coming weekend and will have a houseful on Saturday night- last year I was 3 weeks post-op and my menu consisted of protein shakes and fortified jello pudding. This year its clam chowder, stuffies and smoked salmon- what a difference a year makes.

I'm looking forward to getting back to the gym routine- have blown it off for a couple of weeks and can feel my arms starting to deflate. I will be slammed with work when this vacation is over in a couple of days but I feel fully recharged and ready to go.

That is all for now, hope you're all enjoying your summer as much as I am!  Later,,,,,

Hello All,

It has been a couple of weeks as the Summer has been Super Busy!! In any event, here are the  Numbers:

346: All time high 7/1/10 - BMI = 52
326: Tufts Medical Center, Surgery 12/27/10 BMI=49
197: Last Week 7/8/12
198: This Week 7/29/12 --> Gain of 1 pounds - BMI 30
150: Total Weight Loss

Overall pretty happy with the current numbers. In reviewing my fitday.com data, I have been  fluctuating between 195 and 200 for the last 3 months.  In light of being 350 only 18 months ago, no complaints here!!

Eating has been a little erratic. Between working at Summer Camp and vacationing on Cape Cod have made many good choices, but also some not so good. In light of this, I will be focusing on getting back in to a routine THIS WEEK! In terms of water, been drinking more than 64oz a day as sometimes I feel like a camel and cannot get enough H20.

Lastly, exercise was good. I now run 3-4 miles at least 3-4 times a week. While on the Cape went on a number of Bike rides of various lengths w/ my wife and kids. Then me and my wife walked the Canal which is about 6 1/2 miles in length. So, overall working out pretty regularly.

Hope all of you have a nice week...

Yours in WLS,
Bill

203.8 Last week
201.4 This morning  -2.4 lbs lost this week!!

Ok guys I am getting REAL close to ONEderland, you will see a full post when I hit that I am sure!!

Wife and I went to my local WLS mtg last Thursday night, been 2 months, got to catch up and get re-motivated by all the success.  Also nice to give back and BE the motivation for others, got to talk about my first 5k, etc.

Not sure if I mentioned it last week or not, but down to a size 34 pants!!  (Medium in shorts) I had a pair or two of size 54 pants when all this started!!!  So a loss of 20 inches all told.

Kind of funny that on game night this weekend (my buddies come over once a month, board gaming or D&D and other RPGs) we sat around talking for 30-45 minutes about our favorite EXERCISE routines and such!!

Not much else to report.  Worked out just twice last week, Krav Maga on Thursday and then a good 1 hour at the gym on Saturday.

Small FART from that, I have not got on an elliptical machine since pre-diet!  I hated that machine, it put a TON of stress on my knees and I could not do more than 60 seconds on it.

Saturday I put in 11 minutes, 1 mile on the elliptical!!  This was after a full body lifting session.

Morning everyone....
I had my surgery July 20Th so I'm about 10 days post op at this point. Am doing well with my protein intake thanks to the shakes and Greek yogurt. Started walking on the weekend and did fine about 1/4 mile round trip and the dog is my best friend....he loves it.
I'm getting tired of chocolate shakes and jello after over a month of this and Op ti-fast I'm ready for a few food choices, this should happen after one more week. I'm told this is the point when you are most likely to dump and so far I have not had the pleasure. I have dropped 50 pounds since my highest weight- 340 lbs - so 290 is a nice place to be. Will start weighing in next Sunday and hope I have something positive to report. Good luck all.

My Stats:
Weight at start of Options class: 11-07-2011: 324.5
Weight at surgery 7-02-12: 295.6
Last week: 275.4
This week: 268.8
Total weight lost this week: 6.6
Total weight lost overall: 55.7

I continue to mend and return back to normal each day. 4 weeks out from surgery and excited to move from the liquid/pureed stage to soft foods! Returning back to work this week for a new school year and feeling pretty good, besides some consistent light-headedness when I stand up from laying down or crouching down.

This week I'm back at the weight I was when I got married...least I know the suit will fit again. :)

Have a great week!
