Hello on this wonderful last weekend of July. Little uptick of 0.2 lbs this week but given I was on vacation all week on beautiful Cape Cod and had a few indulgences I feel this past week was a total success. I had a great time on vacation and did some things that I have never done in the past. I walked and swam and bicycled and just enjoyed myself.
There is a great bike path called the Cape Cod Rail Trail ( http://www.mass.gov/dcr/parks/trails/print/ccrt.pdf) which runs 25 miles winding through a number of towns on the Cape. Well it just so happens that this trail runs behind the motel we were staying in so my girls and I decided to go explore one day and walked a half mile towards downtown Orleans and discovered a nice litle bike rental shop where we decided to rent bikes and take on the trail. Well my girls are 8 and 10 and my 8 year old is a little shaky on a bike so we got a tag-along for her on my bike. Mind you, I haven't ridden a bike in about 20 years. But you know what they say, it comes right back to you!! Anyway, we proceeded from Orleans down to Eastham (about 4.5 miles) to a place called Arnold's Lobster and Clam Bar where the girls and I rested for the return trip. They were pooped but I could have kept going. We pretty much sprinted on the way back as my oldest was racing a boy most of the way and that paced us. Pretty fun and the girls loved it. Nine miles total for my first time back on a back felt great.
We went to two beautiful beaches (Skaket and Nauset) in Orleans and just walked and played. When we got to Skaket it was low tide and the edge of the ocean was literally two miles out and so my girls and I set out on a journey to touch the ocean and we made it while exploring the tidal flats along the way. Great time!!
Back to reality tomorrow and the grind. Hope everyone has a great week.

Sounds like the vacation was a good one. Unfortunately vacations have to end.
Eating and exercise out of whack for past couple of days because of company being here. Kept it to one small piece of chocolate brownie but may have done do much homemade mac and cheese. 100+ degree heat not to helpful either. All in all can't fuss too much still holding around my number.

Hi Fellas,
My Stats:
High weight: 296
Weight at initial consult 1-19-2012: 269
Weight at surgery 4-23-12: 230
Last week: 182
This week: 180
Total weight lost: 89
GOAL! As of this morning (subject to change!) I have arrived at my Surgeons/ Nuts goal weight for me. Earlier in the week I had been going through a "fuck it" type of attitude and really wanting to fall off the wagon but you guys really helped me out and I saw that it would pass, and it did. This is all part of the mental struggle they just do not explain to you before the surgery. I hope to continue losing 10- 20 more lbs and am certain I have it in me. There is still some funky stuff hanging around my belly and I would like to see it gone, everywhere else there is just a little fat layer under the skin. I made it to the gym once this week and got back onto watching my intake, the results prove that you must focus in order to succeed.
Welcome back to the grind Mike, sounds like good times with your kids. These are the memories that will carry you through when they start to think they have the world by the tail! Hug them every day!

Highest: 407 lb
Surgery: 5/17/10
Last week: 189.4 lb
This week: 191.0 lb
Fluctuation this week: +1.6 lb
Total loss: 216.0 lb
Uptick this week, but the last two days were far too food and drink centered. Friday I had a surprise visit from my son who missed a too tight connection flying through Houston on his way home to Virginia Beach. So an impromptu early dinner and wine started me off badly. I returned him the airport Saturday morning in time to return home to a scheduled Peruvian Independence Day party replete with pisco sours, wine, and more food than many third world countries have ever seen. After two days of this, I feel the need for an old Roman vomitorium as made famous by Saturday Night Live in the 70s (for those of you too young to be familiar with this era, find the DVD and enjoy the drug-induced laughter of the 70s).
Anyway, I will be back on track today and hope to spend the day doing something more physical than raising a fork to lips. Oh, and in the midst of all of this, my much-cherished and needed routine of 3 Colace every morning and a dose of Miralax each night suddenly stopped working. Just about the time I think I have the daily evacuation routine under control, it's holy system back-up, Batman. One more day of this and I'm going in there somehow to create a hostage release program.
Have a good week guys.
