It's been a while
Hey guys!
I hope everyone is doing great. It's been a while since I've been on here. Seems life gets in the way sometimes. I recently decided to change careers. I've been in the catering business for several years now and it's always been a struggle. I going to get my cel and start driving a truck. There are no other opportunities in my neck of the woods and I have to pay the bills.
Im down to 225 now from 298 and I'm at almost 4 months post surgery. I'm somewhat concerned about maintaining the progress when I'm on the road driving. I know what I have to do...get out of the truck and walk every day, pack my food and don't eat at truck stops, etc... However, I'm concerned with my ability to stay focused and not start letting myself slip back into old (bad) habits.
Anyway, I feel great! I'm no longer have to shop in the big/tall section, which is cool. I've not had any complications so far. I can eat whatever I want and if I eat slowly an not to much I'm fine. That's could be a double edge sword because it will be easier to cheat if I know I won't get sick. Got to watch that!
I hope everyone is doing great and seeing the success I am!

Welcome back, we missed you. Sounds like you are on track, thinking about your eating ahead of the career change is a wise move. I work out of my truck all week and know it can be a challenge. I find that I need to make the time to prepare my food before I leave home and have the strength to avoid the canteen truck or fast food when I am hungry. I also try not to keep and garbage food around but that is tough... my wife is not on board and we now have a grandson staying with us who is about 99 pounds soaking wet. He buys nothing but crap foods, and lots of it... he struggles to gain weight and consumes what must be 4000 calories of junk a day...... All those chips taunting me every day is a nightmare! Best of luck, check in here for accountability and support, I has really helped me through this process.
Hug your kids every day, let them know they are loved, keep them safe the best you can.

I don't think a bike will be my first choice. I will be sitting on my butt for up to 11 to 14 hours a day and I don't think I will want to get on a bike (on my butt again) to get in some exercise. However, it might be a better alternative to walking laps around a truck stop parking lot with all the diesel fumes among other things. We'll have to wait and see.
I will be planning my meals for sure! I will have a small fridge or cooler in the truck and I'll have it stuffed with stuff that I can eat that is far better and far cheaper than the truck stop food. I will also need some snack foods to occupy me while driving. Jerkey, string cheese, almonds, apples, grapes, etc... In the past I would have been worried about getting cafine to help with getting sleepy but because I haven't had any in over 4 months I don't need it now.
Anyway, I start class for my CDL on Aug. 15th and it's 8 weeks long and then it's "ON THE ROAD"!
Thanks for the support!!!
