I thought I'd jump back on the Sunday weigh in board since several are on vacations. I've taken the advice many of you have said and have not obsessed with the scale the last few weeks but I've been keeping up with everyone everyday on the board though.
Things have been going very well for me. I lost 5 lbs this week which brings me to 70 lbs since surgery and I lost another 30 before surgery so I guess it's the 100lb mark overall. If I lose a few more before the 26th when I have my 4 month check up with my doctor that will be 70 something maybe 80 pounds in 4 months so I'm really pleased with that. I went through 9 notches on my belt and I'm down another one on my new belt so I know the inches are melting away.
I've been in the "Stoney Zone" ever since surgery. Everything was about me, how I felt, what I eat, I am losing weight, do people notice....on and on and on. Which is what it has to be to get the job done but that is new territory for me. I'm usually the guy that is 90% for everyone else and I get what time is left over which usually meant no exercise and eating fast food. All that has changed but a couple weeks ago an event happened to burst me out of my bubble and realized I need to join the world again. I had a co-worker and friend who I have spent many hours along with several professionals trying to help him but he chose to take his life. He had 3 children in their teens and a wife he left behind. Here I am doing everything possible to save myself to be in this world for as long as I can and here he is just a couple years older than me ready to exit it. The whole situation reminded me everyone has their demons but there is a whole world around us that we need to pay attention to.
So, my goal is to keep focusing on myself but get out of the "Stoney Zone" more often and try to find a good balance in life.
Hope everyone has a great week!
Stoney
Sorry for your loss, I am sure you did everything you could to help your friend. Many lives are affected by mental illness, I wish somebody had the answer, nobody should have to suffer badly enough to want to end their life... my thoughts are with you and your firends family.

This Week: 271.2
Change: -5.2
Its weird but I seem to be going through this cycle where I go a whole week and loose .2lb to 2lb and then the next week I make it up by losing 4lb to 5lb. I don't really know whats driving it. I'm now hovering around my college weight and will soon be hitting my high school weight. For me its been very difficult finding food up here in the middle of nowhere Costa Rica. Its also incredibly difficult to convince people not to overload my plate at meals.
Last night we had a birthday party for the Pastor of the church we work with and they wouldn't stop with the pork on my plate. Luckily the guy next to me has a bottomless stomach so I kept passing the food over to him. I did cheat and have a little piece of birthday cake. I thought I was going to dump but I didn't, both of my dumping incidents have happened after smoothies and I thought for sure a smoothie would have less sugar than a piece of cake. Live and learn!

One measly pound away from my "official" goal weight! I have not been behaving this past week, the labor out in the back yard all day today saved me and put me in the loser catagory. Last night was my first beer since surgery, big mistake... crampy, bloated, wanted to puke mess of a time... Was soooo very good going down though.
Great job on the loss Stoney! You loser!
Mike, .8 lbs... are you kidding me? I wish I could have joined you for those Sammies, you got off easy with tha***** bitty gain after a week of vacation... Keep up the good work you loser!
Blake, stick with the pork, not the cake... :-) I have never dumped but don't think I'd chance eating cake! Nice loss for the week!
Till next week, see ya you bunch of losers!

Gentlemen,
A decent flux down for me this week. I just had a few of those meal episodes (you know the ones) when you start out hungry as hell and after a few bites the last one creeps up on you kinda fast. I logged in about 20 miles running last week, trying to nail down some course routes that equal even miles from door to door of my front yard. One run turned into 7.5 miles- a personal record. I guess a 10k isn't out of the question after all!!
Well. I'm officially on vacation until the end of the month= another personal record for me! Next Sunday I'll be on my way to Key West from Del Ray Beach in a rag top rental- no kids! Another personal record......
That's it for now, I'll try to check in if I can. 'till then-
Tim T.
Great post from you guys this week.
Michael- How long are we that heavy person in our mind? I still have dreams about being at my heaviest.
Ken- I seem to go in cycles on my food. I will have the same thing for every meal for over a month, then switch to something new.
Stoney- Sorry for your loss. It is very difficult to wrap your head around something like that.
Blake- I tried some birthday cake about a month ago. ( Better than sex chocolate cake ) I was afraid of dumping as well, but only got a super sugar high.
Tim- Just make sure you have some Jimmy Buffet playing on your drive in the convertible.
I am down my standard 2 lbs this week and that is just great. It is so much easier handling the hot weather this year being less insulated.
Have a great week guys and say a little prayer for Stoney's friends family.

Pretty good week all in all. Little bummed about jump up of 3 in weight, but looking at my records I have been fluctuating between 195 and 200 for the last 3 months.
Eating was best from Monday to Friday this week. HOWEVER, over the weekend at my daughter's softball tourney made a number of POOR CHOICES (You know, fried foods and Sweets, ggggrr!) I will be focusing on getting back in to a routine THIS WEEK! In terms of water, been drinking more than 64oz a day as the heat has been brutal in NE this past week.
Lastly, exercise was good. I ran 3 X this week and got to do weight training once. I have also been able to get some exeercise in at work during the Summer Camp I run so that has been helpful.
Hope all of you have a nice week...
Yours in WLS,
Bill
