Morning (Afternoon) Gents-
I have come to the conclusion that after 18 months since my start weight and 11 1/2 out of surgery, and since hitting my goal weight 1st week of May I am presumably in maintenance mode as opposed to a stall. In the whole scheme of things, it's been a relatively short- sweet ride, and I've accomplished what I set out to achieve:
1) Get my type 2 diabetes into remission
2) Get my hypertension (blood pressure) under control
3) Lower my cholesterol to within normal parameters
4) all without the use of prescription drugs-
As a side effect to these accomplishments:
1) Lost a total of 135 lbs.
2) Stopped snoring (so the wife says)
3) My eczema (dry skin) has inexplicably cleared up
4) Consider myself in the process of being physically fit including (but not limited to:)
5) Running a respectable distance at a respectable pace a couple times a week
6) Using said running episodes as training for registered, timed road race events-
7) Self-proclaimed gym rat dedicated to improving upper body strength-
8) Drastically improving my self-esteem and quality of life- not just for myself but for my entire family-
So as the Sunday Morning Weigh-in becomes more of a trivial "up 2 lbs. or down 2 lbs." for me I am ready to deal with that. The important thing is that I continue to seek, create and give support to those who need it and remember that this is a long term lifestyle change and anything can happen. I don't take it for granted for a second, and will continue to be a part of " this thing of ours".
Sincerely, (and just sayin')
Tim T.

Happy Father's Day. Another hot, humid day in Houston, but it's summer, so we have to get used to it.
Managed to hit the gym 3 times this week. It's more important for me at this time of year since the heat keeps me inside and less active that during the cooler months.
Have had some issues with stomach acid the past few weeks. I'm self medicating with OTC Omeprazole. It seems to be better, but I need to watch out I guess in case something more develops.
Hope you all have a great week, guys.
RNY 5/17/10 highest: 407 lb - maintaining a loss of 200+ pounds and enjoying life
Well I lost 4 lbs this week. I met with both the Dr and nutricianist and everything's looking good. The Dr changed my medication for my gout and its getting better every day. I was very happy that my A1C was 5.7 seeing that I'm only 30 days post-op. I've got to work harder on my exercise routine this week. It's my biggest hurdle

Happy Father's Day Everyone, hope everyone is enjoying the day!! Weather here in MA is great and I hope the weather where you are is as nice....
I am actually posting on a Sunday which has not been my usual practice the last month or so while I was on the road. Back home for a while which I am looking forard to...have not been to my gym in at least a month and Monday I am back at it. 3 pound weight loss which I will take. It has been a slow month but being on the road will do that. How I survive not weighing myself each day I will never understand. My scale is my friend and she misses me.
Hope everyone has a great week.
