I hate stalls! Week four of staying the same - I am down 101 pounds from my heaviest - 61 since my surgery seven months ago. I would like to play the muscle card because I have increased my weight lifting exercises three-fold. I regularly lift 15 and 20 pound single weights instead of the five pounders that I started with. And I can easily bench press 100 pounds. Best of all I have gone from XXXL sweaters to L. But I measure myself against the weekly scale. Phooey.

Good luck on your games tomorrow and Thurs Mike. Might as well be positive, right?
I seem to have hit my first wall. I've been stuck at 287-288 range for the past 4 days. I'm 23 days post-op and and I'm down 26 lbs. It's hard for me to walk and exercise everyday. I still seem weak and tired. I've been eating almost all protein everyday and I'm taking my vits, minerals and water like I'm suppose to. Trouble is suddenly I can't stand the protein shakes anymore and that complicates things. This trip is not an easy one by any means and I applaud all of you who have conquered the mountain.
Jim
Hi Jim,
I try to only weigh once a week, you will drive yourself crazy with daily checks. For protein try a bar, I like the "Pure Protein" brand...If it is ok with your nut. For the time being you will be tired, you are still healing and your body is saying WTF? Keep your chin up, it does get better!

Hug your kids every day, let them know they are loved, keep them safe the best you can.

Missed three weeks with travel and family commitments. I've had a good couple of weeks after a mini-stall at 216. It is always good to read of your accomplishments and FARTS. My suit from Reagan's second term is now loose as I haven't weighed under 210 since his first term.
Go Blue Jays!
Y'all have a good week,

I've finally have the scales moving back in the right direction. I've had a peanut butter cracker addiction that has stalled my progress. I am happy to say I have pulled my head out of my ass and now have the scales moving once again.
My personal goal is 190. That is the weight that I felt most comfortable in the past considering my muscle build and height. I only have 55 pounds to go and have to follow this through to the end. I am not going to give up on this!
It's great to see so many of you doing so great! Keep up the great work fellas!
I had a great fart this week guys. My mother and brother needed me to move them this weekend. I ended up loading and delivering all the contents of a three bedroom house to a storage facility yesterday and today. This time last year there would be NO way I could of physically done that. Especially not going up and down the steps ten zillion times. It didn't help that it was just me and my brother and he decided he needed to be going through papers and doing last minute packing while I loaded the truck. Also I work the night shift so I worked a twelve hour shift Friday into Saturday morning and then moved them until eight o'clock that night. I am positive I wouldn't be able to basically work for 24 hours straight. The only downside was I didn't get enough nutrition for the day but I drank plenty of water and was quite proud of myself.
Have a great week guys and good luck with the softball Mike!

355 8/1/11 Start of the program
321 9/21/11 RNY Surgery Day
210 lbs was the low end of my doctor's expected weight loss (210-245 would represent 30-40% weight loss and 60-70% of excess weight loss)
I hit that goal about 2-3 weeks ago now? I am a daily weigher and my weight since that point has ranged from a low of 207 to 211.
I know that there is not 3-4 pounds of "fat" coming off/on, this is just normal water weight moving around and I am good with that.
I hit a major running goal this week, after doing the 5k Mud run last weekend I decided to see if I could actually RUN a normal road course 5k.
I was up to week 6 in the C25k, and not "supposed" to be able to run the full 30 minutes/completing the program for another 3 weeks, but what the heck let's try this out.
Monday... running locally around my office, I was able to go 2.46 miles, in 28 minutes before I had to walk! I finished the 5k distance in 36:13.
Wednesday it was raining so I hit the treadmill... Mile #1, under 10 minutes!!! I was running at 6.2 mph, basically a 30 minute 5k pace!
I had to back off and run / rest at 5mph, but I never actually had to walk!! I finished the 5k (3.2 miles) in 34:48 beating my record from Monday!! I ran for just over 35 minutes with no walking!!
Attended a b-day party on Saturday, shocking a few friends that had not seen me for months and kinda fun to hang with some other folks who are doing C25k as well and compare notes!
So...this week... P90x, will try video #1 later today (or tomorrow morning!!!!) Trying to carve off the remaining fat.
I don't think I will end up getting the super chisled look unless I do surgery someday, but would be nice to firm up as much as I can!!

Hi Everyone, it has been a month since I have posted and have been on the road for most of that. I am in a stall and hopefully it will break soon. I did have my 6 month check up and the Dr was pleased. My labs were good and the only issue was my B12 was a little high.
Of course during my three month check in with the Dr, they gave me the lab paperwork to give to my primary Dr. about a month before my scheduled 6 month visit. So I sat on it for about two months and then before I went to my primary doc I checked an additional 8 or so boxes on the form. Needless to say they drew a lot of blood and were surprised at the amount of tests my surgeon ordered. The good news is I am not pregnant!! Now they gave me the form for my 12 month visit with my surgeon to go through the same exercise with my Primary doc. I think I will check a few different boxes to see what some other levels are.
Mike, I hope your game is going well and you will be heading to the championship match up.
From reading all of the posts it appears that a couple of us are in stalls. They do happen and they suck. For those of you just starting on the journey, enjoy the ride and try and ignore those periods where it seems like you can't lose a pound for the life of ya. The nagging thoughts are there that this is it, "no more weight loss for me". It is just the body adjusting to its new size. As we lose weight our excess weight is less and therefore slower to drop. At least that is what I keep telling myself!!
Well I hope everyone has a great week!!!
